    Couple Of Ferment Fridge Questions

No idea about the cheapest repairable fridge or about refrigeration gas but if I was starting out in AG again I'd go for an all-fridge (Got that) which should easily hold 2 x 30-litre fermenters & after getting that I'd put my dollars away for a fridge-freezer that would take care of all my hop...

Style Of The Week 30/4/08 - Vienna Lager

And yet another reason to use BeerSmith Bribie. ;) A !00% Vienna grist is always the best choice when paired with a decent liquid Lager yeast IMHO.

    Biofine

Taking the piss re the Biofine as you well know Batz. :)

    Biofine

Oh! Give it a rest Batz. :p We've seen multiple pics of your Biofined beer but must agree with you that racking to secondary is best. Looking forward to seeing a pic of your latest Biofined Wheatie. PS --- WHEN! Oh when are we going to get our old Smileys back & give this latest Yankee rubbish...

White Labs WLP059 Melbourne Ale yeast to be released

Still a bit of my 1894 Macclesfield XXXK Pale Ale Wannabe left in the keg. Dropped nice & clear a week after the above post. This yeast is an excellent choice for chewing up sugaz. Multiple thanks to Peter, London Yeast Bank & White Labs.ITO. Doing another recipe from Bronzed Brews...

So how is this prospective BB going MJ? I'd be keen on one if the price is right.

White Labs WLP059 Melbourne Ale yeast to be released

"Whole Lotta Shakin Goin' On" (Thanks Elvis LOL!) alright DCB but once you've the yeast out of the tube & into another 100 ml or so of sterile water then it's easy enough to split into tubes. Added Biofine to the keg (10 g) & here's a pic of the first pint after dumping the sludge from my 1894...

Show me your Mini Mill setup

Electrical box was from Hayman’s Electrical just up the road from where I live. A little on the expensive side (forget the price) but it’s completely waterproof\dustproof which is good what with all that flour dust blowing around. On reflection, if I was doing this again I’d take the time to...

Show me your Mini Mill setup

Just a couple of minutes with the old Cranker Bribie. You can mill without a table if you use both hands to hold the drill. Pretty small pic but I think you'll get my drift.

    Blowoff Suck Back

An excellent choice if you are fermenting a Wheatie,Whit, Saison or a similar beer.

    Blowoff Suck Back

That's been done with not-so-good results.

    Blowoff Suck Back

I’ve found that a larger diameter blow-off tube (combined with a half-full 3-litre juice container of boiled water) works well. especially when using top-cropping yeasts where you want to save the (blown-out) yeast but that’s a subject for another thread. Just a two birds\one stone sort of...

    Yeast washing question

You ideally need a ratio of four parts sterilised water to one part yeast slurry for a successful result & a parallel-sided vessel is best according to the "Yeast" book This glass vase from a local el-cheapo emporium holds 4.5 litres & works brilliantly. Having said that, other vessels of...
