EOI Voyager Malt. Also the new geared 3 roller grain mill.

Sorry I missed the Vic bulk buy, can I still get in on the 3 roller mill at this price? Happy to pick up from Keg King. Thanks Tex

    Gladfield Malt recipes page

I have made the regular saison and Kölsch both were delicious, I used Magnum and Vic Secrete in the Kölsch. I use a lot of Gladfield as I find the malts are a better quality. I had to adjust my efficiency down after converting a regular recipe to Gladfield malts.

Free Bottles - Pascoe Vale VIC

Hi guys I’m moving house next week and need to get rid of some bottles. All up I think I have 60 660ml bottles all boxed up for you. Also have 22 330ml green glass bottles too. Mostly very clean, some dust from sitting around in my garage. Pick up this week or they go to the recycling...

Downgrading from 3v herms to BIAB or Robobrew?

I built a 3V with PID control 2 pumps and 3 way valves so I didn’t have to change a hose while brewing. It made some great beer and was a lot of fun putting it together. 2 years ago we had our 1st child and the days of spending hours in the brewery we’re gone! I did a few BIAB in my boil kettle...

    flow control taps

I have a FC tap and use is straight off the keg @ 10 PSI and get a great pour. This is for portable pouring not my kegerator. Maybe the 5m of beer line is the issue. Can you try it with a short beer line? Maybe something temporary so you don’t stuff up the current pour. Have a look at the...

    cider OG too high

I would let it go and see how far the US05 goes. Have a taste and if it’s too sweet add a second higher alcohol tolerant yeast. I hear good things about Belle Saison in cider, or any dry wine yeast will work. I find it strange that beer yeast is commonly used in cider as it’s been manipulated...

All Grain - is it substantially better beer?

I enjoy the beers I make as an all grain brewer. I only used kit and kilo before and the difference is huge. If you are wondering maybe do a couple of partial mashed, see if the beer quality improves to your taste. Maybe brew one of your extract brews on a friends all grain system and see if...

    Best whirlpool setup/method for keggle

I used one from brew hardware in my pot before moving to a Robobrew. It worked well, I had a 2200w element in the kettle also which will upset your whirlpool a little. https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/whirpoolthreadin.htm You could probably use the pic and shop on AliExpress and get the...

Please help! I can't get it right

Lager is a difficult style to pull off as a new home brewer. If you are after a pale subtlety hopped beer try a Kölsch. It’s a cool fermented ale that is similar to a lager. Or you can have a google of warm fermented lager from Brulosophy and that should give you some good tips on brewing a...

    Help designing a ipa recipe

If you want to keep it around 6.5% you could reduce the Maris otter to 5kg and use 300g of table sugar. That’s around 5.7% sugar I wouldn’t go above 10% in an IPA. 4.8kg of malt and 400g of sugar will give you 7.7% sugar content. That’s about as much as I would use.

    Homebrewing Podcast Guest

Brendan O’Sullivan of 3 ravens is a good guy and very knowledgeable. Worth a chat with him, he does enjoy a sour beer. On the international list, Charlie Bamforth is always worth listening to. He teaches brewing in the USA and is able to speak at a home brew level.

    Help designing a ipa recipe

I would use the Maris Otter as base malt, it’s got a lot of flavour and some people don’t like it in an IPA. You could use table sugar to boost the ABV and not impart too much flavour. Adjust the colour with the caramel malt My iPhone won’t let me screen shot BeerSmith so here goes 5.5kg...
