    A minimalist kegging system?

I am intrigued with your setup there - it appeals to my Frankenstein's laboratory mentality. Is there anymore information for that (or something similar)? Any keyword(s) you can give me for a google? I must admit, as I have been bottling my beer, it has struck me that it should be possible to...

    A minimalist kegging system?

Blimey! That IS minimalist. I wouldn't mind having a crack at that even if I do eventually go the whole hog. Would something like this do the job? Or is it necessary to get something with a pressure rating...

    A minimalist kegging system?

Hi guys, A little while ago I bought a 6 kg CO2 cylinder ostensibly to make soda water, however it's a bit of overkill if I just use it for that and I can have a Cornelius keg for Christmas if I want, and it would be good if I could get it up and running to have a play with, with that in mind I...

Cheap kegs - what's the catch?

Hi all, This may well be worth a go for me to see "if I like it", can some one with experience tell me how crucial is the pressure relief valve? (They say some don't have one) - most videos I have seen make seem to make use of the pressure relief valve - any opinions? PS they do say "ring pull"...

    Resches Da (dinner Ale)

Hi all, I realise this is an old thread, but I am considering making a return to home brewing. I gave up because I couldn't find a recipe close to my favourite session beer Resch's Draught (yes I like craft beers too but not for session beers, too sweet, too malty, too hoppy, etc etc fine in...

    Gout & Filtering Beer

Go to the doc, get a prescription for allopurinol - problem solved. You, like I, have a genetic disposition to metabolic arthritis, it's not our fault so why should we be denied the fruits of our labours?

It Was 40 Years Ago Today, Sgt Pepper Taught The Band To Play...

one serious problem... they're..... a wee bit... more-ish... :chug: Yes, will keep at least half of the batch for 2-3 months if only to see how much difference it makes (so MUST get more on) Hops - yeah must do some more research on this - I am sure I have palate that enjoys some bitterness...

It Was 40 Years Ago Today, Sgt Pepper Taught The Band To Play...

Well I'll be damned - not the best beer I've ever tasted, a bit sweet for my palate, doesn't hold a head all that well - but yes - quite drinkable. I'm happy enough for my first try in the modern age. ...and presumably it will improve with another few weeks in the bottle. Thanks for all the...

hey hey hey - one hour from test time (does 2 weeks always seem this long?) :-)

It Was 40 Years Ago Today, Sgt Pepper Taught The Band To Play...

No, I was thinking that the infection occurred in the fermenter causing the yeast to die. Anyway if it has there is nothing to be done about it now, I will let it stand for 2 weeks and see how it goes (maybe do a quick open of one after a week). I must admit feeling the bottle (good tip BTW)...

It Was 40 Years Ago Today, Sgt Pepper Taught The Band To Play...

All good info, thanks all. It certainly seems I should concentrate on temperature control. Currently I have the bottles standing in some water in an old boiler, and some that wouldn't fit in an eski. I have 5 1.25L PET bottles with water in them in my freezer compartment to rotate when...

It Was 40 Years Ago Today, Sgt Pepper Taught The Band To Play...

I am a glass man myself, but since I didn't have any on hand, and that I always pour into a glass anyway, I thought I'd give the PET bottles a go. Worst part is I always buy long necks (Resch's Pilsner) for home drinking so could have had as many of those as I needed had I had the foresight -...

All bottled now. Now I have to decide whether to start another batch immediately and buy another 30 bottles or wait 2 weeks to see how this one turned out and reuse those bottles if it is undrinkable.
