I've seen a few posts about people asking for ginger recipes. Didn't want to be the guy that creates a new thread - but I haven't stumbled across one for alcoholic ginger beer? I have a standard beginners set up so I can't do anything outrageous.

Sitting on a brew that's been bottled for just over a week as we speak, and it's actually quite nice, I'm keen to see how this goes after a couple of months. I'm Impressed for my first brew.
Any backlash if you boil Irish moss too much or too little?
Hey guys back again with an update.
Yeast cake settled at the bottom , I still don't know what that layer was so early on. Had more aroma than my first batch (poured a touch in to a cup and had a swig and a smell before bottling).

Yeah it's not a beginner's recipe but my cousin hooked up a recipe book after years of practise so I'm lucky enough to not have to learn from scratch...Cheers though boys! I'll let you know what happens
Sorry guys, like I said..not of a newbie.
I steaped carapil and med crystal grain in 4l water/added light malt extract and stirred it in on a higher heat - didn't froth up ridiculously.
I then did ten mins galaxy hop boil and rested for 30 min with nelson Sauvin.
Put blackrock pale ale brew...
Hey mate, that photo was taken literally 5 minutes after I added the water. Now I'm a rookie don't get me wrong by any means - but isn't that too early for a yeast cake?
