    Matho's controller

Sweeeeet. If this doesn't improve my electronics skills I don't know what will. :D

    Matho's controller

Doh! I've been meaning to check this thread. I don't suppose there are any boards going begging?

Nup. Chances were slim, with all the yanks living on there all day. Just a dozen or so tries on the train / bus for me (phone). Didn't stop me hoping though. :)

Sorry for the late notice, I just got an email from my local hackerspace Sparkfun's free day starts in 4.5 hours. Good for shields, etc. Win free $100 vouchers.

http://www.slashgear.com/raspberry-pi-25-u...nuary-28204830/ Anyone seen these yet? That add on board sounds interesting (drives motors, sensors, etc). I know arduino is a computer / open source OS as well, but damn, this looks quite high powered.

    Mead! Mk Ii And Iii

Just a note. Strawberries are unlikely to add much sweetness. They have less sugar than most fruit, and when making wine from them sugar is usually added. They will add some flavour and colour though, just little in the way of residual sweetness (that will need to come from the honey)...

    Galvanised Steel In Mlt

Might just go with nylon fishing line for my use (sewing stainless mesh into a hop blocked). Thanks.

Where in Oz can we get stainless wire? The big green shed doesn't have it. :(

    Non-stick Ok In Boil Kettle?

The ******* Mark beat me to it, but read my links. My reading has reassured me though. Boiling water will reach a max temp of 100* at sea-level and around abouts. As long as it's not touching the element, so probably not a good fit for you.

    Non-stick Ok In Boil Kettle?

Oh dear, I hope it's alright otherwise I'll need to find another way of attaching the mesh to the malt pipe in my ghettomiser (I'm using a spring form cake tin). PS. Here's what Wikipedia has to say: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-stick_pan At first I was a little worried, but it seems...

Spog, if heating a kettle is all you need to do you could use an STC-1000. Not trying to put you off experimenting, if that's what you want to do, but an STC-1000 is a cheaper and simpler way to heat a kettle or HLT etc. If you want to do both then an arduino may be cheaper.

    Braumeister NEXTGEN Build

Sounds good. Let us know how the S/S mesh goes, as that and the washers are all I'm waiting on. I'm attaching the mesh to the pot with a spring form cake tin with a closed diameter just smaller than the lip of the inner pot (ie malt pipe). Here's hoping this ghetto setup can support 3kg of...

    Braumeister NEXTGEN Build

Keen to hear how the beer ended up Matho? Hopefully good as I have all the parts I need for my manual version (or they're in the mail) :). Mine is probably closer to Tim F's last iteration though (but with the wort traveling down). Can't wait until she's up and running. Should be pics some...

Considering the cost of those cables and boards I will probably grab one of these 328 kits that come with a board: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Arduino-Pro-Min...e-/180747779579 as well as Bonj's. I've been doing some reading and Arduino looks fun to play with. I've wanted to make a robot for ages.
