Coopers Tallies For Sale - Brisbane

Interested in some of these mate but not sure i want 5 dozen which is your minimum listed sale. Probably 2-3 dozen would suffice (going to kegs soon hopefully so just looking for a set of consistent bottles for the odd batch etc...). Can pick up maybe this week some time....

    Co2 Refills In West Brisy

Brewers Choice chappel hill does refill. You can swap there if you bought the bottles from BC. Otherwise its a refill of your current bottle...of course you need to have a bottle in date for legal reasons etc. etc. Drop off and come back and pick up next day or whatever....

    Sincoe And Cascade Apa

Ok bum fair enough some people like that in their apas. I'm not against it per se just dont' want it to dominate the other hops is all but that is just my preference. The cat piss thing is more about dry hopping with simcoe but then again some people may want that flavour too...

    Sincoe And Cascade Apa

Simcoe and Cascade are a great combo. I agree with the earlier comments....adding some steeped grain (carapils, crystal) will give a freshness that you wont get from extract alone. Good idea to add some dextrose as you noted as all LME beers can get a bit 'thick'. I personally also ferment APA...

    Anyone Remember Bulimba Bitter

I have this movie and will need to look that up. Although these sorts of beers are way before my time (although i do vaguely recolect the colour and design of some of the cans...must have seen some of them as a kid around the house) its pretty cool to see the history of beer and what has...

    Little Creatures Quiet American

Just tried it (bit of an issue finding any in my part of brisbane), and while i think its a quality brewed beer its not really a successful fusion of styles IMO. The C hops are quite prominent (which i love as always) but i'm not sure the belgian style works all that well with it. Its an...

    Cider Ideas

PLenty of good stuff in the non-beer section of this forum. I recently tried the newly released (or so i believe) mangrove jacks cider (satchel) see here. http://www.mangrovejacks.com/core.php?psec=british_series. I tried the pear cider (apple cider fermenting as we speak) and it was very good...

    Single Hop Ipa Ideas

Agree also. Did a simcoe IPA recently and its very piney and pretty rough even after a while in the bottle. Grassy and herbal...clearly a nice C hop beer but much better with other stuff to round it out. Chinook IMO is best for an American IPA style as a single hop....nice red grapefruit...

    Opinion Please

Agree with this to a degree. More LDME is good but some dextrose is needed to thin out kit/extract based lagers esp IMO so wouldnt' take all the dextrose out. Fair bit of malto in there that you could ditch though in a lager especially (im not completely against it like some people but never use...

    Late Hopping Advice

Im about to do a old ale style (with oak if i can be bothered) and am deciding what hops to use so have a similar decision to make. EKG will be good for sure (though i don't have any so not an option for me right now) because it works both in early and late hopping IMO. POR would be pretty risky...

    Bulk Priming Problems, Help Needed

Good advice this. I have had the odd issue with undercarbonated beers but not many. Be sure to get the sugar solution well distributed (a very slow swirl with a spoon is ok i think) and 150-170grams is what i use in a 23L batch or so. I like my beers pretty well carbonated except for dark beers...

    I Need Some Advice...wb-06

I'm doing my second beer with WB-06 (first was fresh wort heffewiezen) and since its a base for my raspberry whit i'ts just a simple coooper wheat with 1kg wheat malt, 300dex and some steeped grain. Its is down to from 1045 to 1020 in three days and it took 6hrs to get going too (pitched dry...

    Passionfruit Ale!?

Agree with sponge. Also try amarillo...i did a extract beer a few years ago with a good amount of late addition amarillo (probably too much..first time trying out fresh hops) and it was very passionfruity. Kinda tasted like the juice in the bottom of a fruit salad...you know the stuff with bits...

    Beer Cookbook

Got your great book for christmas paul....and have made several recipes since. The hop panacottas were cool...i followed the recipe pretty closely using EK goldings pellets (all i had in the fridge that i wasn't using for my wort at the time) but they were still quite bitter.... I'm a hop head...

    When Have You Noticed Infection?

I have put down an extract recipe of ESB using my newly sanitised equipment. I changed the can it was based off (to a better brand) and it tasted good before so if it tastes the same as the recent off flavours i can pretty safely say it is an infection even if i can't see evidence of it As per...
