    Kefir 101

I don't have a problem with unsweetened yoghurt as part of my other life I work for a yoghurt manufacturer. Sensory panel is at 10am every morning basically it is a taste test of the past 24hours of production up to 35 different products somedays. I think it is when I'm trying kefir or other...

    Kefir 101

I'm sorry to disagree with you guys but kefir has to be the most disgusting thing i have ever tasted. I don't think any of the health benefits are worth drinking this stuff.

s23 lager - clearing it out

I would give it a small amount of time CC in the ferment vessel then get it in the bottle and carbed as soon as possible, then get the bottles in the fridge. A longer period in the final vessel you will settle out any sediment and the longer time will allow this sediment to make a compact cake...

    Jerky from corned beef?

I tried once to make a kind of bacon by smoking a pickled pork. It tasted rather good but it was such a rough cut of meat it just didn't look appealing. It's the thing at the back that kind of looks like a rabbit.

    Jerky from corned beef?

I have made it a few times now used the recipe from Paul Mercurio's book cooking with beer. Have always had good results it takes me about 8 hours in the dehydrator. Definitely give it a go

4% Yellow Soda Water! My first BIAB experience.

I might be a little off here, these blonde beers appear to be lower in actual carbohydrate but the over all KJ is still lower in a low alcohol beer. HERE

4% Yellow Soda Water! My first BIAB experience.

Beer is low carb most of the KJ content is in the alcohol. If you really want lower carb beer drink low alcohol beer.

I forgot my Whirlfloc again... whats my options ?

I didn't use it (Whirlfloc) for about 6 months, I simply ran out and was rather lazy so didn't get more. I did notice in this time my beers were considerably more hazy but still tasted fine. I have since got some more whirlfloc and my beers are clear again. I also place it in the container when...

    Stout

How many vanilla beans do you normally add to the kegs? This was one of my next brews and while you mention it I might as well ask the question. I was thinking at least 2 into a keg with 10L of stout. the other half of the batch will be pitched on some cherries but that is another story. I made...

How do you store cornelius kegs - Long Term

Once the kegs blows I disconnect from system replace with a full keg. Old keg gets placed next to the fridge on the pile of empty kegs. When I'm ready to keg a new batch I grab a keg give it a 10min soak with some napisan. Then add some starsan and pressurise shake and empty through gas in, beer...

    Infection?

I was worried I have never seen yeast so creamy on the top of a ferment like that is looks kind of ropey. I just took a gravity reading and it is down to 1.015 my numbers said it should finish around 1.017 so i guess it is done. Will this yeast drop out in time

    Infection?

Hey All On the 8th of April I brewed and pitched yeast into an SMASH pale ale, 100% ale malt and 100% summit hop. The yeast used was 1272 American Ale II, I grew a starter that was made from a smack pack I had previously split. After 4 days of fermenting I added my dry hop addition and all...

    PID out put type

Thanks guy The switch is rated to 250v AC 3Amps. It will be running a 2400W element so it isn't suitable. I think I will rig it up how QLDKEV suggests with a 9 volt battery Again thanks for your help. Cheers Stu
