    Significant trub losses BIAB

Don't use the SS basket and don't sparge. That just disturbs the bed. Lift the bag slowly and gently, and squeeze (can do this is a separate large crate or bucket). Add Brewbrite at T-10.

    Using kegerator for fermentation

Please note that your instructions will probably recommend a much higher ferment temp than actually required or desired. For an ale, 18 degrees is great, as long as you pitch a reasonable amount of yeast. I set my fridge temp to 16 degrees, which gives me about 18 degrees in the fermenter...

    Bottle Condition = effin oxidisation

And go back to the cheap-ass bottling wand - easier to clean/sanitize and you can replace it every so often at little cost.

    BIAB Trub

Do you mash-out? Try lifting the bag (slowly) at the end of the mash without any agitation or stirring. That is, don't bother with a mash-out (which for BIAB, means you have to stir the mash as it increases in temp). Just turn the element on after you have lifted the bag out.

    Single vessel electric brewing

An equally good solution (in terms of making excellent beer) is an electric urn (eg, Crown) for a couple hundred dollars and a BIAB bag for $10.

Possible cheaper alternative to Star San?

I've always found Starsan to be an extraordinarily cheap sanitiser. And effective. If you think it is not cheap, you are doing it wrong.

Chill then whirlpool or whirlpool then chill?

I find that by, post-mash, lifting my BIAB bag very carefully without any stirring post-mash or ramping up to mash out temp, then using Brewbrite at T-10, there is very little trub and it settles quite well during the 20 minutes or so between FO and cubing, w/o any whirlpool. (Bribie method -...

Chill then whirlpool or whirlpool then chill?

Even better - no chill and no whirlpool!
