Good single vessel for new to All Grain?

I've heard that you will struggle to get a boil without the full 3500w and also will take much longer to heat up. If you can't get the 15A, I would stick with the smaller 1V's (from what I understand).

    GUTEN

I think if that were the case, every man and his dog would be brewing with the lid on for the whole process and you would have SFA boil off. Theres probably a reason why >95% of homebrewers dont boil with the lid on.

    Mash temp too high?

Maybe, I'd be surprised if it got any lower. I'll take another reading in 4 or so days when I keg it, I just dry hopped it. Using Wyeast 1056 with temp at 18.5 to 20C

    Mash temp too high?

So the verdict is in, 5 days after pitching the yeast. FG reading came in at 1022, 7 points higher than BS predicted. Coming from 1060, results in a 5% ABV. Safe to assume the missing 7 points might be from unfermentable sugars from the high mash temp? Or maybe some is from error in BS calculation?

    GUTEN

So if you were to mod the Guten by adding some sort of filter over the pickup or if you use a hop spider or bags, can the pump be used to whirlpool? Will it work for boiling wort?

    Help identifying keg post threads

Yep so as it turns out I think my two kegs are firestone. The gas post is a 9/16"-18 thread and the liquid post is a 5/8"-18 thread. A bit harder and more expensive to source than the 19/32"-18 posts that are typically listed for $3. Bit of a pain in the ass.

    Mash temp too high?

No unfortunately I don't have one of those. Guess it's time.. What does the iodine test do again?

    Mash temp too high?

After elsewhere that people generally dump their grain in during BIAB and then stir after and have no issues with dough balls, I decided to give this a crack. However I ended up with dough balls and spent a good ten minutes breaking them up. During this time, the temperature dropped a bit, so I...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Any plans on making/supplying keg posts for different threads? I just discovered my keg has a 9/16"-18 gas post thread and a 5/8"-18 liquid post thread.
