    What Are Your Other Hobbys?

This; Currently being prepped for Targa NZ - hoping to have it done for 2009, and taking far too much time from the brewery

    9l Kegs From Kegsonline

I have two posts like that, Press them out with a pin punch/screwdriver with the post sitting on a flat surface. They come out fine, and re-seat themselves when you screw the post back on

Nitrogen Dispensation - Why The Nitrogen ?

I'm using a gunness tap with straight co2 at 5psi - this gives about the right level of carbonation for a stout tap, have tried with a keg carbed at 10psi and the beer came out complete foam. The pour is slow compared with a nitro tap, but as far as i can tell that's the only difference. All...

    Counterflow Chiller Woes

that's why i went with compression fittings on mine, the brass bits pop off then i push a keg of caustic through (my pump is also fitted with brass disconnects, so no recircing)

    Counterflow Chiller Woes

Just keep the caustic away from brass and you'll be fine

    Low Pressure Co2 Regulators

I ordered 6 of these; http://www.sciplus.com/singleItem.cfm?term...tLogFrom=Search sciplus will only ship to the US, but www.shipbuktu.com do a freight forward service to NZ. Might be something else similar for aus? 6 of them will work out about 160NZ landed - not bad considering they are...

    Aussie Single Malt Whisky?

was about $110 NZ pesos. From the description, comparing it to Laphroaig or Lagavulin is chalk and cheese. I'm a big fan of islay singles, but something a little less agressive is nice once in a while

    Aussie Single Malt Whisky?

This arrived in my inbox today; SMITHS 7 Y.O. 1997 VINTAGE 40% SINGLE MALT Heres something quite from left field an Australian single malt! However, knowing that Samuel Smith & Son, the name behind Yalumba is the distiller lends great respect for the product. The Smiths Angaston Whisky was...

    100% Saaz Ale

Have done a pale ale with 100% NZ B-saaz. Grain bill was 95% Maris otter, 5% med crystal, og about 1050 and hopped to 40ibu using whole b-saaz. I used 15, 10 and 5 minute additions, and a steep at flameout (no bittering addition). Might not be too practical with euro saaz due to the low %AA

    S/s Ball Valve

Those are the valves i use, they do the job nicely, can be broken down for cleaning in a couple of minutes.

Now i think about it, this isn't going to be too bad - the last box of 4 kegs i ordered was 41lbs, about 75 us for shipping. If you couldn't squeeze two whole kegs into each $37 box, then order 5 kegs in 3 boxes - get the lids, tubes and posts taken off the kegs in the boxes of 2 - would...

It's not all bad - Priority flat rate box to NZ is $37 US for 20 pounds, 6-10 days delivery. From memory that's better than the old cheapest air rate. Might sneak 2 kegs in to that, and will be ok for mills etc
