Tuggeranong Act Fs - Kegerator, All Grain And Other Equipment

Hi All, Due to health reasons I've had to stop brewing and am now selling my brewing gear. I'd prefer not to seperate parts of the bundles if possible. Highest reasonable offer received by PM or post by the start of next week can pick up from southside Canberra (Conder). 1- Converted...

    25l Willow Esky $19.99 - Coles

Hey - just thought I'd let people know that I saw these on sale (fathers day) at coles this weekend for $20 - reduced from $45. A bargain and good start for people looking to get into all grain.

    Kits Or Ag Cheaper? Pros/cons?

If I can count the equipment and half spent bags of hops in the freezer as "assets" and the much better beer as "goodwill" then I'm miles ahead with the all grain option. If you're considering the balance in the bank account then I should've stuck with K & K. (having said that Kits and bits can...

Beer Line - Anyone Seen This Before?

I'm pretty sure its the same as I use on my mashtun connections. Found at bunnings and says foodsafe up to 65degrees (I've been willing to take my chances with a degree or two).

Constant High F.g., Should I Bottle?

Sounds like its not going to move any further. After 14 days at FG I'd be going to bottles. What FG were you expecting? (I've never used 1084 but it seems like you've got a fair few unfermentables in there?)

Fermenting Kit Beer At Around 25 Degrees

I can understand Manticle's annoyance but... Guys it's Tooheys kit beer that's probably spent 2 years on a Coles shelf- surely your not so concerned he's going to "ruin" it? My 2 cents for Quality vs time -- I'd also be going with the more yeast.

Using A Pressure Sprayer As A Line Cleaner

    Stc 1000 Temp Controller

Yep. They work really well. I've got one doing duty converting a chest freezer to fermenting fridge.

Which Option For Heating Fermenter During Winter?

I use a $20 electric blanket inside a fridge (with tempmate). Works perfectly.

    Beertimer Software

For those that have used this. I've made an updated version. Changes include: - three digit boil times - ability to choose you own hop additions (separate times with a space) - a graphic showing the hop additions times and time left - hopefully much more accurate timing and ability to resume...

    Brew Always Tastes Like Homebrew

There's definitely some good advice above which should all be followed. Finishing hops may help disguise some of the off flavours if your not using these already. I'd steer clear of the dry enzyme - In my opinion its likely to strip out any flavour thats not "kit twang" and leave a pretty awful...

    My Homebrew!

I'm sure you'll get lots of helpful replies. My 2cents: 18-20 degrees is pretty good for most yeasts. 24 is starting to get a bit high and 28 is very high, pitching temp and fermenting temp should be the same. try 20 C. As for yeasts yes- Fermentis US05 is a good dry yeast that will improve...

    Timers At Aldi $3.99

And pressure cookers for sterilising the tubes in the yeast library... bit of a worry when theres a kitchen sale and you can find so many brewing utensils.

    Matilda Bay - Big Helga...

Had this one a couple of weeks ago and was one of the worst beers I've ever tasted. I can't remember the taste so much, only that when I've subsequentially seen it in a bottlo there's been a sick feeling in the back of my mouth. It was from bottle but like other's I'd assumed a bad batch....
