    Ok lads, I went out today and got the 81ltr freezer. It's a no go. The shelves have the freezing elements in them so you can't remove them to fit the fermenter. Hope i can return it!

    I was thinking the freezer might have a bit more room? I'm not sure where the motor is? But small fridges usually have the motor down the bottom which sometimes makes it a bit hard to sit the fermenter flat if your struggling with space.

    That looks like it. I don't have the catalogue in front of me but I think the brand or model was called Stirling? What do you think would work better with a stc1000? I haven't fermented in a cube before. Sounds messy? Or do you transfer from a no chill to a larger cube?

    Hey guys, I noticed aldi have bar fridges and upright freezers cheap at the moment. The 120L bar fridge looks like it might be a bit tight to get a fermenter in there? Bit hard to tell with the 81L freezer? Anyone used one of these before or knows the internal dimensions? Thanks Rusty.

    I have 3 biab under my belt. I've had the same issues as Mr B. Is stirring a bad thing? I use a combo of a 3ring burner (for bringing water up to temp and boil) and a hand held electric element (for holding mash temp). If my mash temp drops I turn on my element and stir/jiggle the wort. The...

    4 Pines ESB-alike

    Put the brew down today. Came up short on gravity 1041. Tasted pretty good after the boil. Sitting in a cube now and will pitch wyeast 1275 tomorrow. Not sure how it will compare to 4pines but should be nice beer all the same. Thanks again Blind Dog for the recipe.

    Why Must I Wait?

    Thanks guys, I must have been given an old wives tale. I was told that the higher temp and shaking the bottle would re-activate the yeast a bit quicker. Well better head off the local bottle-O and sort myself out. Thanks for the tips.
