    First mead

I know what you mean, I cant see this lot getting to a year old, unless it is bloody horrible the first time I try it.

    First mead

My first mead, JOA is now 18 days underway. I cant believe how much dead yeast there is compared to the 7 grams of bread yeast pitch into the must. It is starting to drop clear and I am getting excited. I have been saving clear stubby bottles from Bundaberg soft drinks to bottle this lot...

Jao The Ultimate Beginners Mead Recipe

Being my first batch I stuck to the recipe as warned, so I supposedly have no one to blame if it falls over. Adding ginger and or vanilla bean sounds nice though. I am worried how I wi get the oranges out of the demijohn, I hope they just turn to slop. I really had to squeeze the portions...

Jao The Ultimate Beginners Mead Recipe

Well after months of reading and thinking I have finally had a crack at this mead making business. A pair of twin JAOs following the OP but with Tandaco bread yeast from Woolies. Photo is two hours after pitching yeast and all seems to be progressing well. Looking forward to the end result...

    G'day from FNQ

Hunting is my primary reason for making bows, arrows, knives, leatherwork and other gear related to outdoor pursuits. I also shoot at the local ABA club once per month. Since I lost access due to properties changing hands I don't get to hunt so much anymore and spend more time in the shed.

    Mead batch number 2.

    G'day from FNQ

For sure, already found a supplier that I previously didn't know about. It is amazing how much knowledge you can find on these common interest forums. I taught myself how to make composite longbows and recurve bows by reading the knowledge shared by forum members.

    G'day from FNQ

G'day All, Have been through the kit beer, LME+hops beer and never quite got to mashing. I gave all my bottles and 8 x 18 L kegs to my brother in law. I have decided it's finally time to make some mead and ingredients are a bit hard to find up here. That's how I found your forum and I look...
