    Tap hygiene question

Clean the lines every time you change the kegs. Give the taps a thorough clean every couple of months. Perhaps a bit more frequently. I've just gotten a Bucket Blaster from KegLand and have added a few bits so I can clean my lines without wasting CO2. I think that'll help me keep up the...

    Whats In The Glass

Some of them don't react well with Alcohol. No problems with hangovers, but you need to earn them.

    Whats In The Glass

I just downed a 750ml Irish Red Ale I made from a fresh wort kit (I don't have the gear to do anything more yet). Now I am sipping a shot of Wild Turkey American Honey. Thought I was out, but when I stashed my latest batch of Breakfast Stout (it's what happens when you put muesli rather than...

Where do you get your nitrogen from? Do you need a different reg setup? Are there any good (and australian) resources on Nitro?

    Keg level

I am starting to build something to track the amount dispensed. I bought a couple of hall-effect flow meters (they are for water) and am writing some code for an arduino to keep track of the amount of that has been dispensed. I need to get some fittings to connect it between the keg and the...

    Mangrove jacks mixed berry cider

I put one together a couple of months ago. I didn't follow the instructions and added the sweetener at the beginning :) It turned out ok. Started off a bit astringent, but then came good after a week or so in the bottle.

    Best Fridge for Kegging

Yeah, that was something that concerned me. As Frothy1 mentioned, there's font fan with the latest iteration, and I know the stainless font has insulation, so it shouldn't be that bad. If you felt like it, you could always look at a poor man's glycol system with it or with a flooded font.

Where can I buy a Kegmate?

Dropped in and had a chat to Anthony this morning; really impressed with the keg mate. They had some left in stock, and the missus has decreed that I am to replace my brewing fridge with one, and I can get one for serving. Not only was I impressed with the device, but the guys there were...

Co2 supplier / home brew shop Western suburbs Brisbane

There's Craftbrewer in Capalaba (www.craftbrewer.com.au), they are a sponsor here from memory and are known to be a good bunch. Also in Capalaba, there's Tru Brew (www.tru-brew.com.au); never been there, I have no opinion. There's Annerley home-brew in Annerley. Again, never been there, I have...

Co2 supplier / home brew shop Western suburbs Brisbane

How far west? I'm in Indooroopilly, and the local Brewer's Choice just shut up shop. They are a chain though, so there's one in Wacol and one in Ipswich. They do supply Co2 in the Wacol shop. www.brewerschoice.com.au

The Mrs wants a good ginger and apple cider

G'day mate, I've done a batch of Mangrove Jack's Apple Cider. I really like it. It has a sachet you can add to change the sweetness. They do a few different ciders (cysers?) with different things, like a mixed berry cider and I think an apple and pear. Take a look at their website, or check...
