To bottle or not to bottle

Hi Paddy, I might have to try that - but you're right waiting for a year would be tough!

To bottle or not to bottle

Thanks everyone. As H68 and paddy mentioned normally I would ramp the temp back up however I did this one without temp controls (inkbirds) and kept the temp as stable as I could with jumpers etc (never throw out an old hoodie or tops with a zip at the front - they make great jackets for the...

To bottle or not to bottle

I was looking at about 1.015 which as mentioned is about where its at. On the one hand I have a stable gravity but still seem to have some yeast activity - hence the question. It's a simple european lager from coopers - nothing fancy (baby steps haha)

To bottle or not to bottle

Hey brains trust, Recently (after a while not brewing) I decided to get back into my passion - making beer. I figured I would start back nice and easy with Coopers extract brewing and have found that even though its been some times since I did a brew the "muscle memory" is still there. to my...

Bottle conditioning - sugar amounts for various bottle sizes (first brew)

The carb drops from coopers will do the trick for most bottles except the 500ml. 330/375 ml bottles go with one 750ml (or anything close to that) its safe to go with two. I did a bit of an experiment with the 500ml a while back - 1 coopers drop and 30 grams of sugar. Simply it didnt work. It...

So I Want To Add Prevervative-free Jam To A Brew

so I am new to this and just getting into the experimental phase of it all So far I have only done around a dozen or so brews pretty much to the letter of the cooper kits. So if you go from fermenter to bottle and then add your carbon drops - how do you get your secondary fermentation in? (so...

    Carbonation Drops

Hey all, so I run 4 kegs/fermenters at a time. the last time I did a run about 90% was awesome. however there was about 15 ltrs that I bottled at a later stage in 500 ml bottles. I used a single carbo drop per bottle which was no where near enough. My question, can I save the beer or better to...

    Fermentation time

I forgot to add this - when i pitched the yeast (as mentioned it was 23c) however when it started to ferment the temp rose to about 27-28c after which time I shut down the belt heaters and allowed it to cool back down to 23

    Fermentation time

Hi All I am a first time brewer and am using Coopers extract (draught/stout/ale and a morgans lager) I have 4 fermenters with one of those extracts in each. I pitched each on 12/5 at about 23c and have managed to keep the temperature relatively stable at about 23-25 (until last night when I...

    Another newbie

Hi guys - its something it has been a while in the making but finally I have taken the plunge decided to make my own brew! I figured I would start slow and start with extract (although I dont drink the stuff - coopers to be precise). I am located in Melbourne and am limited to the garage (thanks...
