Ok thanks for that. Maybe it is one or two that are duds and I just keep filling the same dodgy one like an idiot expecting different results. That sucka is getting a mark put on it and I might test it out with a fake beer (water, priming sugar and yeast)
Do any of you guys bottle condition in your growlers?
I've found a few end up flat when opened. It is a devastating find for 2L of beer that has been sitting there for a few months :( Makes it hard to think you are taking a beer to a party only to open it and find it is flat. I question taking...
Good idea you definitely wont look back.
Not sure of the source of that particular kit or the quality of the components. But speaking from experience when setting up a kegging system don't skimp on price.
I'm not saying get gold standard equipment but just don't buy cheap.
That kit definitely...
If it is anything like my triple font i think the foam is mainly there to reduce cold escaping through the metal font riser. Ideally you would try to get the foam to stick as close to the sides as possible. I wouldn't glue it down personally.
Cooling performance was so much faster than the standard immersion chiller. I would say about twice as fast and you don't have to sit there jiggling the chiller or stiring the wort like with an immersion chiller.
The only thing I never thought about was there are two ways people use counterflow...
Some pics of my completed chillers worked out to be about $150 each.
I built one for my mate as the most expensive part was the 18m of copper from bunnings

The second most expensive bit was the vynil tubing.
Bit late responding here but I went with the clear tubing from Mundays. The whole thing works really well.
As for recirculating back into your drinkable water I personally probably wouldn't do it. Next time I brew I will check the temps coming out the other end. I would say they would be pretty...
I learnt a few years back after gas leaks, excessive foaming in beer and breaking down and rebuilding my beer and gas lines and buying different taps trying to resolve the problems.
Don't skimp on your gas and beer plumbing, and taps. They are a one off purchase so just buy once and save...
Did you guys work out how to do split bags on the spreadsheet?
You should just be able to put something like 0.5 in for number of bags and it should calculate out ok.
I can't see your spreadsheet but happy to fix it if there are issues and you share with me.
James it might be easier to give people a format to add to. Saves people just saying "Can I have a bag of xxxxx"
Other posters please copy below to your post and add your name and order to the list. Then update the running total number of bags. JAmes can then update the spreadsheet accordingly...
No grain needed here however if anyone needs help with the spreadsheet on the first post of this thread just ask.
It is pretty straight forward and you should be able to make a copy for yourself if you have (or create) a google account.
Then just share it read only to the public and change as...
