Thanks again. I went ended up increasing the grain slightly .7 kg crystal and .4 ale malt rest as above. I'll let you know how it goes, thanks for all your help. Brendon

I'm only a rank amateur but my best k&k has been the Cascade Spicy Ghost (draught) with half dme and half dextrose after 12 weeks in the bottle.

I've done half dozen kit and kilo jobbies so I'm not experienced at tasting a lot of brews. This is the first at trying to add something different. The fuggles are 4.5-5.7. I added 15g. Anyway I'm grateful for your info and I hope the bitterness subsides as noted. Brendon

Yeah I know to warm it before pouring etc, I just wondered if boiling the liquid extract in a couple of litres of water has any benefit to a brew, it seems not, thanks.

The kit is pre hopped coopers, just the standard kit and kilo stuff.

Thanks for the responses. Presently I do temperature control at 20 degrees, I sanitize and clean, and all the things mentioned however maybe I just need to let it sit longer! As an aside I was discussing this with a mate today and he said that he used to boil the pre hopped LME for 20 mins...

Not on the washing machine but on the bench above it. How she didn't notice the beer running of the bench it until after the third wash amazes me, you gotta laugh I spose ha ha.
