    Sanitizer use by date?

I did consider that maybe my mouth was the problem, but no issues with store bought beer. Not sure about the oxygen as I was not having any problems for 10+ years and if anything I am more anal about cleaning and purging now than I have ever been. Last batch was split into two different...

    Sanitizer use by date?

The problem I have been having for probably the last ten plus batches of beer is that there is something off with them. Not sure what it is but every beer ends up tasting the same as the last. Hoppy beers don'y have any hop flavours. Lagers don't taste like lagers. They all just taste like bland...

    Sanitizer use by date?

I have had a persisting problem with every beer I have made for some time now. The only thing that I can think of that is constant throughout is the sanitizer that I'm using. It is a bottle of Starsan that I have had for a while. I wouldn't have thought that this could be my problem but I can't...

    Cheap Stainless Steel Pots ?

Don't quote me but I think that the price is usually a good indicator of cheap pots. You get what you pay for.

    Hunter Pale Ale

Would be one of my all time favourite pale ales. At first I thought that it was too bitter for me but after finishing a glass was very happy. Hops aren't overpowering but seem to stick around with you for ages. Very moreish. Can't drive past the brewery without getting drawn in.

    Npt Fittings

Wes, just after a bit of clarification. Are you saying that you have had problems screwing a parallel thread into a tapered socket? The T in NPT and BSPT stands for tapered, BSPP for parallel. Parallel fittings require parallel ports and correct sealing surfaces.

    Npt Fittings

For the record NPT - National Pipe Thread ( Thread form used by US ) BSPT - British Pipe Thread ( Thread form used in Britain ) 1/2 inch and 3/4 in both sizes are interchangable. Thread pitch in all other sizes are only slightly different, so for low pressure, thread tape...

    Need Help With Airstone.

Was hoping someone could please help me use an airstone and airpump for aeration. My story began when I bought a 2 micron airstone, filter and some silicon tube from trusty brew shop. I had what I thought to a decent airpump lying around the house so I used it. No end of dramas trying to fit all...

Glass Or Plastic Carboy For Secondary?

My 2c, I have a better bottle with all the accessories and I love it. Takes a little getting used to and there are definately negatives, but for me the biggest plus is the ease of cleaning and sanitizing. It is also nice to see what is going on inside aswell. I always felt uneasy with my bucket...

Spiral To 3600w Electric Conversion - Boil Stats & Pics.

I've been led to believe that one of the auberins pid units has a boil function "for the beer brewer." Would be handy as a dual purpose unit, http://www.auberins.com/index.php?main_pag...products_id=106 Thanks Scott

What Is The Fermentor Of Choice?

The reason I think that I need to replace my plastic pail is that I inherited it from a friend 4-5 years ago and don't know how long he had it for. Starting to get paranoid that it may start to harbour baddies that will be difficult to remove, and that I should turn over my fermentor for good...
