    auckland pubs & breweries

The Brothers crew have opened their second site with brewery and bbq joint right by Mt Eden train station. It doesn't look to be too far from Galbraith's. Hopscotch has plenty of taps for takeaway and it's across the road from Galbraith's with a short walk down the stairs. Brothers, 16 Tun...

    London Pubs (and Paris suggestions?)

The Bermondsey breweries open up their doors to the public every Saturday but you'll find their beers all over the city relatively easily at the pubs mentioned above. Keep an eye out for Brodies beers, one of the top breweries in London and you can drink their beers at their own pub the Old...

    London Pubs (and Paris suggestions?)

Good spots. Just to expand on this, also check these places in Paris:- La Fine Mousse http://www.lafinemousse.fr/ Les Trois 8 http://www.lestrois8.fr/ A la biere comme a la biere http://www.alabierecommealabiere.com/ Le Supercoin http://www.supercoin.net/ Express de Lyon...

    Heady Topper - The Alchemist

Had it a few times and agreed the drinkability is thru the roof. Unfiltered hoppy goodness. I've always had it very fresh and interestingly the last can I had late last year was huge onion/garlic profile, very Summity. I've heard they use hop extract purely in the boil, but who's to know?

    Enigma

Sorry, this is for a commercial batch - 13hL.

    Enigma

Finally got around today and opened the bag to assess. Yep extremely Sauvin-esque, without the passionfruit but pungent melon, white grape profile. We're brewing a hoppy wheat with rye and oats next week and I'll most likely use 2kg of Victoria Secret in dry hop as well to bring in that...

    Enigma

I haven't opened the bag yet tbh, but will give them an analysis closer to brewday in a few weeks. I read of the berry and white wine profile it gives and got me thinking something along the lines of Nelson Sauvin...will keep you posted.

    Enigma

Bump. I have kilos of Enigma and can't find much info on the hop. I was wondering if anyone has trialed these recently?

    San Fran

I've just spent the last four days in SF and can provide a few updates of the beer front. Mikkeller Bar has opened and has a very nice selection - mad pricy though. They have a sour room in the basement too dedicated to, wait for it...sour beer. Toronado rocks...divey beer bar with cheap...

I want to work in a brewery

Read this:- http://digboston.com/boston-beer-brewing/2013/07/on-beer-and-brewing-so-you-want-to-be-a-brewer-eh/ Truth. Note: I brew commercially and love it but you really need to have a specific type of personailty for this biz...normally a crazy one :D

    Malaysia

The best bar for craft beer is in KL called Taps Beer Bar (http://www.tapsbeerbar.my/). On my visits they had the likes of Mikkeller, Brewdog, Thornbridge & Rogue on tap. Heavy focus on Aussie micros too, not that you'd probably be looking for that in Malaysia though. I also enjoyed Brux-Ale...

    Japan pub & sightseeing recommendations?

Man, Tokyo's beer bar scene changes weekly, seriously. There's so many new beer bars popping up even beery locals don't even know about them. My suggestions would be to hit up Popeye's, Ushi-Tora (two bars side by side by same owners), Craft Heads, Aldgate & Good Beer Faucets (all in Shibuya)...

    Kaimai Brewery Nz Still Exist?

Yes, Kaimai beers are still being contract brewed here and there. The Golden rye at Renaissance I believe, the others..? Who knows...who cares? The beers are shite.
