    Pineapple cider?

Anyone ever try a pineapple cider? I have friends vacationing in Hawaii asked if I could make one. Unsure if I should ferment it as a blend or backsweeten with the pineapple. Thoughts?

    Cleaning hop basket

Curious if anyone has used denture tablets (the kind that fizz/effervescent) to clean a hop basket. We happen to have some, part of a gag gift for bf birthday. At $1 a box from Doller Tree store these would be a cheap hack if they work.

The birth of a commercial brewery

Unpacked! Next the building inspector has to do a walk through. Once he's given the thumbs up the guys can start installing all the fun pumps and pipe work, electrical panel, and a bar has to be built.

The birth of a commercial brewery

The brewery is located in North Tonawanda, ny. Just a stones throw from the mighty Niagara River. It's a prime location for boaters on the nearby canal and in an up and coming area. Cider fermentation on pause?

Reading came in at 1.02 ! I'm thinking its because we used yeast from the previous batch so it just went to town very efficiently? I also was surprised at how tart it came out. The original recipe used a quart of pear juice and 3 qts apple. I couldnt find pear but i thought cherry would make...

    Cider fermentation on pause?

Havnt seen any bubbles in the airlock in days. Nothing, nada. It was going pretty good too, could it have finished that quickly? (Just a gallon) I didn't think 63 was cold either.

    Cider fermentation on pause?

I started a small 1 gallon batch of cider last Sunday using a bottled Honey Crisp cider from Trader Joes. Fermentation started off real nice, and then 2 days ago quit altogether. It's very cold in my area now, and our home brewery is not well heated. I checked the room temperature daily using...

    Hello from NY!

I will always be happy to suggest a brewery! We travel the the Adirondaks a few times a year which isn't far from the "big" city or the NY line. I'll start a thread soon on the commercial brewery progress. I'm quite new to all this so I'm not confident i can be entertaining.

Store bought. Lot of farms in the area so I could press when in season. I don't have a press but friend does.
