Pimping a Fresh Wort (All Inn's Mutiny Red IPA)

Where did you get 1.070 from? I don't think any of their kits are that high and adding 5l is water will bring it down as well. There are dilution calculators available online as well. 1.020 for your FG sounds a little high as well, but as JDW says yeast and other factors can affect this.

    Apple Cider _ HARD

Your alcometer is useless in brewing, it is only accurate with a pure alcohol/water mix. As others suggest the change in specific gravity is the way to calculate ABV. A very important tool as well for determining when fermentation is complete, especially when bottling.

Brewcraft in North Lakes stock it. Depending on where you live you could also try either country brewer in Stafford or the brew shed in Strathpine. Hoppy days is Virginia only stock pure sodium percarbonate.

Colonial Brewing South West Sour clone

I didn't ask about the sour recipe, just where to get it. As is suggested to heyhey maybe email them and ask them? I asked about for some pointers on the IPA and got a more detailed response than i expected. I like knowing what is in the beer that i drink but I think you have to be respectful...

No chill hop additions with hop spider

I find no chilling dulls something about the hops, not quite sure what. However dry hopping brings this back. Even in recipes that don't call for it, a small dry dry hop, say 10g in 23l just livens the hops up a bit.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

I sort of agree and sort of dont. The fridge part running is louder than the fan but mine certainly isnt too loud to put in the living room. Also another user asked earlier about a "blank series x" i.e. just the fridge no font, taps etc. but Kegland didnt really answer the question. I would...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Has anyone had issues with the gas disconnects with integrated check valve (KL09010). I bought one recently and it seems only to let a tiny amount of co2 through and the beer comes through at a trickle. If i have two kegs connected on the same gas line, one through an inline check valve and...

    Amber Ale

Thanks, ill give that malt bill a crack. I really wasn't sure how much chocolate would be appropriate. I want to be present but not overpowering. I mash at 68 with no mashout and it finishes around 1014. Would an english ale strain not attenuate a bit less? In any case I have tried this with...

    Amber Ale

I've been brewing a slight alteration of the American Amber ale recipe in "brewing classic styles" for a whike now. It is a great drop but I find it needs a slight boost is the colour/roasty/rich department. I think this is because the crystal dark I am using is lighter than the crystal 120l in...

Big Post Of Water Around Australia

Super hard, like all south west WA water... Poster above you said water corp got back to him super quick, maybe try the same approach. From what i have read (never played with water chemistry when I lived in Perth) in some areas it can vary between desal and reservoir water depending on dam...

    Continuing Jokes Thread

A lonely traveller is exploring Los Angeles whilst on a layover. As it becomes dark he finds himself in an affluent but secluded suburb. As it is away from the tourist traps he sees no hotels or taxis, only mansions. He walks up to the door of a four story dwelling that looked indistinguishable...

All About Canning - Cannular Can Seamers and More...

According to the article linked above it isn't actually filled as such. Apparently they add a small amount of liquid nitrogen to the can prior to filling. If it is accurate I would think you could just cut open Guinness cans and re use them.
