Fresh Wort Extract Kits 5L, adding LDME instead of Dextrose, need help adding hops

If you want a happy IPA type beer just throw them in. If you want additional bitterness make a tea. Or both. Taste your wort and decide where you want it to go.

    Sweetening Apple Cider With Lactose

At the end of the ferment before bottling. You want to take a sample and workout how much lactose to add. Then scale up the lactose for your full batch. For cider I prefer to stabilise by cold crashing below 4c, adding potassium sorbate and potassium Meta bisuphate (camden tablets) and add...

Is it just me, or is it REALLY expensive to buy commercially made wine and beer? lol

When I look at the brewery downstairs and have a moment of honesty..... a single gold covered store bought beer looks reasonably priced ;)

    Bad batches or my mistake?

Other than water profile being on point I can't see why rain water would be an issue. It gets boiled (unless you are doing a raw or extract brew). So I'm putting my 2c with the "not an issue crowd".

Tjorben and Kegland have the right to chat with each other. Tjorben deserves the benefit of the doubt regarding his slightly abrasive language as he's not a...

New to brewing, help with krausen or possibly mould?

Hi Ferg91 I regularly make mead and would be happy to chat with you about it. When I started on my journey I lost a lot of batches following poor advice on YouTube. Good channels are "Doing the most" and "Man made mead". Your pic just looks like a yeast float which is nothing to worry about.

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Hi Peter This isn't a kegland website issue but a browser issue. Different browsers treat tabs differently for security reasons. From memory for Chrome, each time you open a tab the kegland website loses its session and hence, cart. Try a few different browsers and or, do your research, then...
