    Fermenting Mandarin?

Brewnut! Any chance of sharing the recipe and method of making said fruit wines? The mango one sounds awesome! I've always been keen to do a feijoia one. The only place I know that does a feijoia wine is just outside of heathcote, and is about 25 bucks for a tiny bottle, but is absolutely...

    What's Your Favourite Stout?

For me, the standard coopers supermarket shelf variety stout has been more popular with myself and others than their "Thomas Coopers Special" and any other kit varieties I've tried from the local brew shop. The plain cheapy always seemed to come in a favourite for some reason.

    Fermenting Mandarin?

I'm still curious to see how it will turn out. I love experimenting with this sort of thing. I have a box of mandarins at the moment, if I get time this weekend I'm totally going to try a boiled ferment and a non boiled ferment. :D Oh and barls, loving the "Beer is the mind killer", going to...

    Fermenting Mandarin?

Wouldn't boiling the mandarin juice kind of kill the flavour?

    Yeast Starters

Thankyou kindly, but as I keep trying to tell people, I ran through google, books, the instructionals and a few other bits and pieces and still didn't get it, and couldn't find the recipe for re-using part of your beer to make yeast, which is why I asked the question. It seems that the fact...

    Yeast Starters

*Sigh* Yes. Minus certain terms like "pitch" which may seem commonplace to blokes like you, not to us newbies, and that's going from one of the simplest things. I guess the most frustrating part here, is I've asked what the POINT is of making a yeast starter, and everybody's gone "HERE'S THE...

    Yeast Starters

Thanks folks! Yes I did read it, but you have to realise I am NEW at this. Sadly, this appears to be the same as every other forum where newbies are treated with scorn for the simple fact of BEING newbies. How dare I ask a question in the "newbie questions" thread! Much like anything, people...

    Yeast Starters

G'day. So I'm looking into doing all grain brewing, doing all the research etc. but I'm getting a bit confused by this "Yeast starter" culturing. Effectively, it looks to me like they're making a liquid yeast, by adding dried yeast. What's the point? I was under the impression the plan was to...

Is There A General Distain For Americans In Australia?

*sigh* Yeah.... You sure showed me... Enjoy it dude. This all started because he didn't like the colour of my text. Great "minor trolling" affair to jump on board. Glad you feel some silly measure of justification out of it.

Is There A General Distain For Americans In Australia?

Unarmed WAS quoted, "armed" was quoted as a sarcastic measure. And thanks for joining in the shitfight glen. You know, that being totally necessary and all. It's not like he wasn't going to fail hard enough without his buddy helping him along.

    Which recipe did you use?

Is There A General Distain For Americans In Australia?

Your assumptions are as far off the mark as your attitude. And as far as being "unarmed in a battle of wits" it's kind of disturbing when the unarmed party is talented enough to defeat the "armed" person with the greatest of ease. But then, it's blatant you're way out of practice with a weapon...

3 questions. What is "Pitch" What is "Krausen" And how much of this liquid yeast would you use in a 23 litre fermenter.
