What's the highest PSI that's safe for Harris 601 CO2 Regulator?

Thanks for the info. I could try leaving one connected with the airstone and see if it improves the carbonation compared to the other two. We have all 3 of them gassing simultaneously. The temperature is good, I think, at ~5c. Hahahaha I guess whatever I was first introduced to was PSI and...

What's the highest PSI that's safe for Harris 601 CO2 Regulator?

Thanks for replies everyone! Yeah when we first got the system we tried various methods, including rocking it for 30-45 minutes, and we tried using an airstone for about 30 minutes as well. The carbonation after that wasn't good at all. And it's not very practical considering we go through a...

What's the highest PSI that's safe for Harris 601 CO2 Regulator?

So currently gassing at 206 kPa, but want to gas at 620 kPa. Keg says its maximum working pressure is 900 kPa.

What's the highest PSI that's safe for Harris 601 CO2 Regulator?

Thanks. It needs to be high because we're gassing soda water not beer. At 30 PSI it's very slightly sparkling after 2 days which is the minimum it needs before being drinkable, but 3 days is better. At 90 PSI the process will speed up a whole lot. To clarify, are you saying that the maximum...

What's the highest PSI that's safe for Harris 601 CO2 Regulator?

The kegs are rated for 900kPa/130 PSI. The regulator is 400kPa/58 PSI. Google helps me out with the conversions :D I'm looking at getting a Harris 825 adaptor which can do 1000kPa and connecting it to my 601. That way I can dispense at 10 PSI whilst gassing at 90 PSI. Do you need better...

What's the highest PSI that's safe for Harris 601 CO2 Regulator?

Thanks for your reply. Does that mean if I set the pressure too high, it'll drop back down to what's safe? Setting it too high isn't going to make it explode or something?

What's the highest PSI that's safe for Harris 601 CO2 Regulator?

I've got the Harris 601 CO2 Regulator and I'm wanting to know how high I can set the PSI safely. It's for plain soda water, and ideally I'd like something around 80 or 90, however it goes into the red at 60 on the dial and that seems ominous. Can you safely take it up to 60, 70, 80, etc. Or are...

    Best way to carbonate water

Hi everyone, Right now what we're doing is putting the keg in and just leaving it to gas rather than any of the other methods we tried earlier. We polish off a 19L tank in about 1.5 days, and we have 3 tanks. So if we can fill it up quickly enough (we use filtered water so it takes some time)...

    Best way to carbonate water

I notice in the Kegmaster 4's manual it says "Warning: Do not exceed 40 PSI on your system" however I'm wondering if that's just for dispensing? I.E., when the out is connected to the keg? If I disconnect the out from all kegs can I pump the PSI up to 50, 60, 70, etc., for carbonation and then...

    Best way to carbonate water

Thanks guys, will keep in mind everything you've said! We currently leave our kegs in the fridge for 24 hours before carbonation, and the temperature is set to 6 degrees (but the fridge reports 3.) But not sure if the keg is actually getting to 3c -- I'd assume it would over 24 hours though...

    Best way to carbonate water

I see. So maybe 20 minutes of carbonating it and then leave it in for a while? Yeah maybe we'll need to add another hose so we can gas 3 tanks at once. Right now we're doing just 2.

    Best way to carbonate water

Around 3-4L each a day on average, so I'd say about 10L a day. A 19L keg only lasts us 1.5-2 days. I guess over the next few weeks we'll experiment and figure out how to get it how we want it. It may be hard to match the fizziness of 800ml of water blasted in a Soda Stream (1000 PSI?) for 6+...

    Best way to carbonate water

Thanks guys. I've carbonated the first keg using the ROSS method. After about 15-20 minutes I found it was still only very lightly carbonated -- almost resembling flat soda water from the supermarket. The resting PSI after turning the gas off was around 35. I'm going to try and experiment and...

    Best way to carbonate water

Thanks guys! I'd say we drink around 10L of soda water a day so we'll probably go through a keg every two days. I think I have quite a few good things to try now. I wanted to ask in regard to the rocking of the keg (with the ROSS method) just how much you're supposed to shake it? Is it simply...

    Best way to carbonate water

Ah right, good to know. I see. Will do. Thanks again for all the input guys -- will report back with how I go with the carbonating.
