Lion introduces "Tap King" - party keg / growlers

Cartridge (bought a pack of 20) and just chucked 8 carbo drops in it. I looked at doing the full hack but as I keg, it's not really worth the effort. A 23 litre brew fits perfectly into 1 x 19L keg and a tap king bottle.

Lion introduces "Tap King" - party keg / growlers

Went to my local Liquorland in Sydney yesterday. The have a special on. Any tap king bottle, the dispenser head and 2 schooner glasses for $35. I jumped at it as I basically got a spare head and 2 glasses for $7. BTW, I cracked my first home brew filled tap king bottle today. Works perfectly :)

    Finally Got An Infection :(

The tap has only done two or three brews. Always cleaned with a small bottle brush and soaked in idophor before use.

    Finally Got An Infection :(

No shortcuts, same routine that has worked for me 37 times previously. I do remember when I was cleaning and sanitising it last time that it was looking a little discoloured and thinking it might be time to retire it.

    Finally Got An Infection :(

Bob, thanks for the tips but I've got a reasonable stockpile so it's not like I have to go to the Bottlo to replace it with packaged beer. I've had a good run out the FV so it and it's contents are meeting their maker tomorrow <_<

    Finally Got An Infection :(

Probably about as crook as it looks! Not too keen on sticking my tongue in things with a yeast infection.. :icon_drool2:

Well after 38 brews, the Brewers Selection wort I was going to bottle tomorrow has gone tits up... Bummer.

    Esb Wort Kits?

Yeah, don't confuse the St Peters 15 litre worts with the 4.5 litre wort kits from ESB. Their new line is called "Finest Round" and they have a heap of new varieties. I've tried their English Summer Ale and their Sparkling Ale. I think I was the crash test dummy for the English Summer Ale as...

    Fermenting Two Beers At Once?

If you've got the spare coin and room in the fridge, this is what I use for a double batch: http://www.thebrewshop.com.au/carboy-fermenter-60litre.html Of course no good if doing different styles simultaneously.

Coopers Celebration Ale/british Pale Ale Recipe

Thanks for that Jake. Great minds think alike (or is it fools seldom differ..) I looked at the recipe on the Coopers site and thought that the traditional draught can and US-05 was a strange choice. My first impression was to use the sparkling kit or maybe the APA kit and s-04. I haven't done...

    Temp-controlled Fridge At Aldi

Just thinking out loud, but, at it's maximum temperature (18 degrees) I'd imagine it wouldn't suck too much electricity. As I'm stuck with brewing and storing my beer in my shed/granny flat out the back, something like this might come in handy. In winter I can carbonate my bottles in it...

    No Head

Did you thoroughly rinse the glass? Even the tiniest amount of detergent will kill the head quicker than my ex wife killed my bank account...

    First Brew, Freaking Out!

Going OT here but thought I'd throw this in. I've got one of those new Coopers fermenters, it's called the "DIY" fermenter. Got it off a mate unused for a carton of VB (unwanted present). I used it a few times and it works but has both really clever and really dumb design features. Really...
