    Cheap v expensive kits

Of course the people who brew all grain are going to push it. However there are some of us who just don't have the time due to family and work commitments or the space to brew in this style and we have to use kits and bits. Lately I have gone to using the Thomas Coopers selection kits, liquid...

    No bubbling

My fermenter is 5 or 6 years old now still with original rubbers and it still gloops while fermenting. I also find the glooping comforting also.

Well my choc stout is easy as, one tin coopers stout (white tin),'brew enhanced no2, a large bottle of cotties chocolate topping (600 grams aprox) and the kit yeast make up to 23 liters and prime the bottles with raw sugar. Tastes great after a month in the bottle

3rd brew so far, wheat beer. Is this Normal?

I also made my first wheat beer late last week. Used a Thomas Coopers selection wheat tin and a 1.5 kg tin Morgans wheat extract, kit yeast, and made it to 20 l. It has been brewing away happily and it will be ready for bottling tomorrow or Thursday.

And I did sanitize my ice mould and freeze boiled water. I keep it all in a separate freezer just for brewing in summer.

    Kettle fresh wort kits

I was at my local HBS today and I noticed they had kettle fresh wort kits for sale. They are all grain brews in a variety of styles ( 200 lashes, corona, Aussie gold and so forth ) made up to 20L, pour into fermenter and add yeast. I have been toying with the idea of going all grain for a while...

Opened two about an hour ago, put them in the fridge at 2:30 beautiful pssshhhtttt when I cracked them, long lasting head and a trail of rings all the way down the glass as I drank them. I guess they just needed time, won't be using raw sugar again though.

So I was doing a job at this old guys place a while back and he fermented his beer in old broccoli eskies with a wet towel over the top. Then used a hand syphon to bottle his brew. Just wondering if anyone has seen or heard of anything as unusual/weird as this?

    My beer is flat

I prime each bottle as I cap it using the sugar measure you can get from big w. Tallie on one side stubble on the other. Used screw cap bottles last time with white sugar and had great results. I'm thinking PYROSX is right and I didnt get as much raw sugar in my measure as I do white. Also used...
