    Spunding set up

The centre port is for the thermowell which screws on under the lid. So hopefully that's not the issue.

    Spunding set up

Thanks for the comments. How long do you think it would it take to get to 10psi? It had approx. 12 hours from when I attached the valve and it was till on 0.

    Spunding set up

Hi Guys First time using a spunding valve so excuse the ignorance. I set up the valve to 10psi using a gas bottle last night (working fine) then attached it to the fermentasaurus. The brew was fermenting nicely (plenty of bubbles in the blow off tube) when I attached it. When I checked this...

Closed transfer into keg with a coupler

Thanks for the info Mark re cleaning. I currently remove the spear, soak with PBW, scrub if necessary, rinse, and sanitise. Seems to work ok. My uncertainty was about my current method I use for closed transfers. Razz said my process is fine (ie leave the gas port on the coupler open) if the...

Closed transfer into keg with a coupler

So I'm guessing that if I pressure ferment so the beer is not flat, I would need a spunding valve on the gas side of the coupler? If so, do you know why this'd be necessary?

Closed transfer into keg with a coupler

Hi Guys I have Sanke kegs that use a S type coupler. I'm not sure if I am doing my closed transfer correctly. Can I leave the gas port open (ie without the "duck bill" check value) or do I need to use a spunding valve? My theory is that the keg is full of Co2 which will be displaced when the...

Converting from gas to electric kettle

Why would you need a Digiboil to control it? Couldn't it just be turned and off by the wall switch (or a switch on a power board) and temp control via temp controller? Approx how quick can you boil 60 litres with the 3kw element?

Appreciate your 2 cents worth (reckon with current inflation its gotta be worth more!)

Converting from gas to electric kettle

Thanks. I was planning to drill a hole in the side of the kettle for the element and another hole for the thermowell. Control would be via temp controller from Kegland or similar.
