    Electric brewery options

If the element is larger than 2400W = 10Amps you will need a 15amp dedicated circuit.

    Greetings from scotland

I use a similar fementor and find a clean and fast ferment around 10PSI.I will be travelling to the UK/Scotland dec/jan next year can you recommend...

Using a 40L Electric Urn for BIAB - a guide

I think that could be possible with the esky idea and a longer boil with a kilo of Dex or sugar if the recipe calls for it.You will need a long boil and a slight reduced volume to get your numbers.I use a crown urn with a stainless mesh basket which can handle 8 KG max and managed to get 1.1 SG...

    First kettle hoppy sour advise

Gday AHBers, Over the weekend I brewed a hoppy sour using 4 kg pils with 0.9kg rolled wheat mashed at 65 which created 20L of 1.050 sour wort,I added lactic acid to reduce the PH to 4.5 and reduced the temperature to 35 deg and added Lactobacillus.2days later the PH was at 3.5 I boiled the wort...

    Silly hop whirlpool question

IBU calculations have to allow for whirlpool time on total of hops, more importantly the late hop additions. The hops added at 80 deg will strip less alpha acid than the boil, its very hard to measure you can only calculate and adjust in future brews to your taste.

1v Circulation pump and temp probe options

Gday Blekk,I don't circulate through the pump when boiling but if I have a high rye grain bill 10-20% I will.I usually do this because it minimizes the scorching of the element which also reduces its efficiency to boil quickly, usually done as boil temp is rising from 65-100deg and hot break is...

1v Circulation pump and temp probe options

I am happy with the flow of the keg king pump I run on my 1V system,i split the pump discharge to flow into the mash basket and to the urn element with a valve to balance the flow.I have mounted my stainless RTD probe on a stainless T piece on the line running to the mash right at the top of the...
