    Hey Symph75, I know someone who used this several years ago with the desired effect - direct cooling. You might would want to boil the water before you freeze it though - thawing unclean water in your post-boil wort could potentially result in infection.

    Oban Distillary

    A beautiful part of the world - could live there. Rented a cottage for a couple of weeks over Christmas in Dalmally (30min drive inland) several years ago. The Oban Distillery was v interesting - and Oban generally is a great spot.

    I wouldn't bother with the whirfloc - there doesn't seem to be much point in trying for a clear wit.
