    NSW State Comp 2015

I wouldn't expect the results for a week or so (if the organising of the event was anything to go by) The previous years NSW comp organisers posted the results on the Sunday night....

    Growler Fills?

Hey guys. A question that i've been curious about for a while. I have a few growlers from a few different breweries - 4 Pines, Six Strings, Lobethal, Beer Cartel etc. Is there an unwritten rule with regards to filling growlers at certain brewries? i.e, can i take a 4 Pines growler and get it...

    Old Engine Oil Clone AG

Interesting... I wanted to try and not add anything else to it and keep it as simple as possible.. If anything I might add some Special B to give it a bit of a raisin finish..... If I upped the Roasted Barley to about 6% to get a darker colour, would it be too bitter?

    Old Engine Oil Clone AG

Yeah I will when I get home tonight. Its pretty much going to be the same grain bill as below (just copied from norther brewer website). But with an SRM of around 27 It just seems way too light for a porter.. Batch Size (Gal): 5.00 Wort Size (Gal): 5.00 Total Grain (Lbs): 11.00...

    Old Engine Oil Clone AG

Hey all. Im planning on doing an Old Engine Oil (the best porter ive tasted) clone this weekend and found the below thread on HBT. http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/porter-recipe-please-help-old-engine-oil-clone-216050/ I've entered the grain in to Beer Smith, but my SRM is very light, and...

    Supporting Independent Breweries

Slightly off topic, but not really.. Have been in the Blue Mountains all weekend and stopped by Leura Cellars. Wow. Probably the best local and imported range I have seen in NSW. I picked up a few St Bernardus 12 and some Innis and Gunn oak aged stout (they also had the full Heretic range, Bear...

    Fermenting Two Beers At Once?

Thanks mate. Yes, I'll be pitching at the same time. I'm thinking I'll set the temp control to 18c so if there are any temp spikes, at least it will stay on the cooler side.... Cheers

    Fermenting Two Beers At Once?

Thanks, but I'm planning on doing an esb and a robust porter (both using WLP002) so I need two separate fermenters instead of 1 biggie. That's. Nice looking fermenter though!

    Fermenting Two Beers At Once?

Hi all, I did a forum search but couldn't find much on this topic. To date, I've only fermented one beer at a time, but I'm planning on fermenting two ales simultaenously (I'll make sure they are both styles with the same temp range and will start and finish (cold crash) them at the same time)...

American Brown Ale Recipe - Feedback?

Thanks guys. I might remove the brown malt but leave the special b in there. I'll let you know how it turns out. I'll be kegging it, so I'll let it condition in the keg for a few weeks before hooking it up to the kegerator.
