I went to college to be a teacher. I started brewing beer back then. After my wife and I were married and our our first child was born, I stopped and gave all my gear to my brother who used it for making wine. 18 years later... I went on a trip to Germany with my oldest child during the Starkbierfest.
I forgot how much I loved beer. (unbelievable I know) I really fell in love with doppelbock.
Mass produced American beers don't thrill me at all. The craft alternatives here are Weis beers, Belgian clones and over hopped IPAs. All of which I am not a huge fan. I like some hoppy beers but there seems to be a game of "mines hoppier than yours" going on in the US. Often hops are used to hide poor malting. I like the whole beer. Not just the bitterness.
I'm involved in youth scouting. I hunt deer, partridge, grouse. I like taking canoe trips with my kids. I like snowmobiling. I own an old Polaris that I have made many updates on. We built a house on my in-law's farm. I built myself a big shed that hold my workshop and toys. It has a loft. Billiards room? Pub?
