    Recirculating biab

They are a great little pump for the money, from memory mine was $70 or so. I got the fittings and hose from Cheeky Peak Brewery, The hose is 13mm dia and the fittings to suit are 1/2" BSP with a 13mm barb.

    Recirculating biab

I've got 2 nuts on each bolt allowing the bolt position to be fixed, once they're all extended out about 20mm the pot sits nicely on the lip of the urn. I should have positioned the bolts closer to the lip of the pot so the entire grain bed was in contact with the mash water.

    Recirculating biab

I didn't know that, thanks mate. I wonder why the manufacturer recommends it to be mounted that way? I used a 19 L pot from Big W and a 4mm stainless drill bit. The pot holds 5kg of grain ok I reckon 6kg would be pushing it. I'm impressed by this cheap little pump and have noticed a great...

    Recirculating biab

I had those bolts extending out to sit the pot on the lip of the urn, I put them in the wrong position and it was more trouble than what it was worth due to draining too quickly. To prevent any particles getting out I just screwed them in all the way. I think I'll modify another pot shortly with...

The arm came with a few different plastic adapters to alter the shower flow. The setup works pretty well so far, I'm only two runs in though! To control...

    Recirculating biab

Cheers Mozz, I'll do that, I've used it a couple of times now and have been measuring grain bed temp which was ok once it settled down. I've modified a BigW stock pot with a false bottom which works awesome and much better than the the trusty old bag. You're right about Wort clarity mate, the...

    Recirculating biab

G'day all, I've recently setup a recirculating biab and am wondering if anyone can advise me where to take the temp from, should I be reading the grain bed temp or the water temp in the urn?

    Guinness Draught BIAB

Thanks Bribie looks great, the only yeast I've got to use is mangrove Jack's M07 British Ale as it's all I could get the other day at the brew shop, hopefully it'll work ok.
