    Original Gravity

One way to approach this next brew day, is take a sample pre boil and post boil, seal them and let them cool to room temp and measure both at the same temperature with your refracometer and a hydrometer. Compare results.

    Aging with Oak Chips

Hey All, I've got 3 big RIS stouts on the go at the moment, and I'm aging 2 of them on oak chips (presoaked in whisky). The 3rd I just added the resulting whisky (after the presoaking) but left the wood out. I'm now wondering the best way (once the aging has completed) of avoiding oak chips in...

    Cold Plate Jockey Box

Started and completed my cold plate jockey box setup on Sunday. I went with the Keg King cold plate kit but upgraded to the flow control Intertaps (hoping that gives me a little leeway to tweak the pours). I really wanted a Esky on wheels but found a number of them wouldn't fit the cold plate...

    FV mystery white substance

Hey All, I've noticed once or twice a little bit of flakey white build up when bottling from a FV but it hasn't really worried me before. On this occasion however there seems to be a lot more of it, and I was wondering first what is it ? And if its something to worry about. This is the first...

Is my ginger brew taking too long?

Just wanted to ask the dumb question - how did you prime the bottles ? Sugar, carb drops or bulk priming ?
