BNE Gear for sale: fridges, kegs, etc (Warning: lots of pics)

Keen on taking one of the chest freezers off your hands. I want to start using my kegerator for serving beer not fermenting it. Where are you located though?

My Rogers Clone Recipe Tastes Great

Soooo. Anybody got any idea of how i might convert this to an extract / partial recipe??? I was stupid and promised a mate i would make a tasty mid strength, and so looking at doing a rogers. It will be a 27L batch in total (1 keg and 24 x 330ml bottles), and the boil will be about 14L So far...

    Priming A Keg With Sugar

I use carbonation drops and find that about 15 drops in a 9.5L keg and that seems to work great. Shake the hell out of it (just like you would a bottle) and no need to add any extra gas. Works a charm. The carbonation drops recommend 1 per 330ml stubbie, so its about half of the recommendation...

    Belle Saison (Danstar)

I totally get your point. And you are definitely correct. However i probably should have specified that i am trying to make a red farmhouse ale, not so much a traditional saison. Probably somewhat of a cross between a traditional saison like the dupont you showed a picture of, and my favourite...

How Many (& What Sort) Of Fridges Would Work Best?

Sorry to restart such an old thread. But just wondering why you need the temp controller? i was habving a look at doign the exact same as you, ie. one fridge for kegs and one for fermenting / lagering. And as far as i can tell the fridges can go up to 28 degrees, Do the older models not have...

Farmhouse Style "Red Ale" - Recipe Feedback

hmmm. Thanks Lagerfrenzy. That is a really good point actually. Mine is just a standard 30L plastic carboy like what you get in the kits. Perhaps i might drop it down to a 22L or something like that. I have done some pretty heavy brews before that had a higher volume. That said i also just...

Farmhouse Style "Red Ale" - Recipe Feedback

Thanks wolfman and gigantorus. I had a look at the spreadsheet (that ian fellow is a champ). and yeah i will add about 400 grams (1/3 of a tin) of one of the malt extracts to the boil. And definitely agree that a sparge is a good idea too. I might just reduce the initial steeping volume...

    Belle Saison (Danstar)

I plan on using this yeast tomorrow in a recipe i've whacked together (with some help from forums). I dont have a brew fridge or temp controller. But should be able to keep it around the 20 - 22 degrees celsius mark i am hoping (thanks to a handy under stairs storage / brew room). Just need some...

Farmhouse Style "Red Ale" - Recipe Feedback

Thanks for the feedback @Gigantorus. The batch size i am going for is 25L in total. I added the wheat extract but think i might just go with the two lme and 1 ame. I will have to have a bit of a think about it. some wheat flavours would be good. It was more of a copperish hue i suppose i was...

Farmhouse Style "Red Ale" - Recipe Feedback

Hi All. I am looking for some feedback on an extract recipe i am looking to do. Am wanting something that is very malty, redish in colour, with complex hop notes, and a fairly high ABV. I will be putting it into kegs and bottles, and will be naturally carbonating the kegs not force carbonating...

    Kegging Bourbon And Coke

Thanks for the feed back guys. Mucho apppreciato (pretty sure thats spanish right?). Agreed i think i will go with 1L:4L ration of bourbon to coke, just like cordial and water. I too prefer it straight, but some people just love their sugar

    All Grain Ginger Beer

I miss my uni days when i could just take everything to the lab and run it through the sterilising dishwasher (used to clean all the glassware and such). It got up to something like 120 degrees (so pure water vapour / steam) and would run for half an hour. Was massive too, so i could pretty much...
