I only have access to dry yeast. I have a choice of Morgan's English ale or safale04. I'm choosing NV based solely on the smell of the pellets now;) Really pungent. I was thinking of 40g bittering and 30g Whirlpool or cube
Any need for a step mash or anything fancy to get a full flavour from a smash? I haven't done one yet but keen to try and see how simple I can make things. Northern brewer hops is the plan for hops
That's all good however the idea was to have a use for leftovers and whether it's worth the effort. Even for the guys that grow their own. Easier to store oil than hop flowers
A mate of mine does the "other" type of hop oil extraction using gas somehow. Has anyone thought about doing it for all their hop remnants or stale hops?

its been fermenting for 5 days now. should i dry hop it or...
cant tell from the website i got them off. they are meant to be 10.5% aa though which is high for the variety i think.
i did grab the maris otter to make an ESB so i might give it a crack tomorrow. hopefully i have a little bit of med/dark malt hiding.

just after some advice on nb hops. i got 500g the other day but i cant see a lot of recipes using them.
i have a english brown ale with 75% NB and 25% columbous in the fermenter now so ill see how that turns out. from what i gather theyre an american hop with english character.
