    Archive Bar

Yea you could be right there, more home brew is probably the answer. Is just a little frustrating when there is so much good beer in front of your eyes but your wallet holds you back. Then again my mind could be trapped in 1996 and still thinks a schooner is $3

    Archive Bar

I do appreciate the choice that Archive offers but the price....a kick to the junk. I'm forced back to quasi-megaswill. :(

    Oxygen For Aeration

Dropped into BOC today to get some prices. The guy said the smallest size I could get in the food grade stuff was and "E" size. The rental on this was $172 per year and the O2 cost was $90 for a fill. I asked about the "D" size in the welding O2 and the rental was only $20 cheaper and the...

    First Time Using A Starter

yea it has setled to bugger all yeast. First time using liquid yeast so very new to this game. From what I've read most people dont top-crop 1056 instead rinsing it or just dumping a new batch onto it but i thought i'd give it a try. I'll prob try to rinse and reuse the yeast from the bottom...

    First Time Using A Starter

Ahh ok gotcha. Yea under the foam sitting on top of the wort it was a bit more 'creamier' I spose, which was the stuff I was trying to get. Oh and yea it is 1056 btw. I know not technically a true top cropper but I figured I might try it anyways. Cheers!

    First Time Using A Starter

Hey everyone Just wanted to say thanks for all the good info! It has taken me ages to get my brewery up and running and I finally got my first full size AG batch in the fermenter. There was plenty of "firsts" going on including making a starter. I'm totally stoked with the results so far as...

Max Beer Temp For Gelatine Addition

Cheers TB Appreciate the info. I've been leaving beer in primary for 3 to 4 weeks then fining for the last few days. I think I might try fining a little longer like f or the last week in primary. See if it'll get any clearer. Cheers.

Move To All Grain For Thirty Bucks

Hey guys Just a quick question. Is it ok to leave the hop flowers in loose for the overnight no-chill? My brain seems to think it's read somewhere that it's not ok but I can't remember. I've just done my 5th brew today using pretty much this technique but I've been chilling. I'm just getting...

Strong Taste Of Dr Smurto Golden Ale - Kit Version

Hey Digger, I've little experience but when I gave some DSGA to my mates they just said it was fruity. From a guy who loves his XXXX gold, he sucked it back without flinching. Mine was slightly bitey for the first 2 weeks in bottle but really settled after that. Maybe yours is just taking a...
