Looking for SS tubing. Where get?

Try George Archer metals - http://www.archermetals.com.au/ The other option is prochem (http://www.prochem.com.au/) but they can be expensive. If they ask, thin wall tube (0.9mm) will be fine

    Melbourne Brewers Beerfest 2017

Hi Dan I'll have a word with the competition director to see if it is missing, but I remember Dopplebock wasn't in Beerfest last year and I put mine in as a Traditional Bock (took second place in the category). Cheers Tom

You don't need credentials to judge (or steward). All novice judges will be placed with at least one experienced judge. And for those judges who have credentials, Beerfest is registered with BJCP so you will get points for judging.

Anyone know from experience if you can grow hops and veg. in same pot?

Definitely do not grow hops with Raspberries. I tried this with two established fuggles plants and in the second year, the raspberries out competed the hops and killed them.

whats wrong with my hops? ah nutrient deficiency!..nope its fkn mi

Looks like young spider mites, before they start spinning the web or young aphids. I used to have a similar problem with my hops and I declared chemical warfare. Pyrethrum Sprays work well at killing the buggers straight away, but they will be back in a week or two and can develop resistance...

    Decanting stepped starters

The overbuild is split off before pitching for return to my yeast farm

    Decanting stepped starters

I should also add that I also overbuild my starters by 100 billions cells. I use the homebrew dad yeast calculator so I have all my counts. Nothing is done blindly, the above example was just an example. All my steps are done so I have the required pitching rate and overbuild amount.. Cell...

    Decanting stepped starters

When stepping up, I do not decant or cold crash. My process is as follows 1st Step - 1L starter @ 1.037 - 100g DME in 1 L. 2nd Step - 2.5L starter required - 250g DME in 1.5L water. Add the full first step to get 2.5L in total volume. Makes things simple.

    VICBREW 2015

Vicbrew will be the second comp I have entered and my first time as a steward. Looking forward to seeing how it all runs and will definitely be putting my hand up as a judge in the future.

    Let's Freeze Some Yeast

The white lab vials are unblown 1.25L PET bottles. I wouldn't use them for slants as they would soften quickly at high temps. I have seen the new White Labs packaging for WLP001 at a local HBS recently, so I would assume that the time for the PET tubes are nearly over.
