Good single vessel for new to All Grain?

Yeah that's what I figured Silverfox. No harm in starting single batch I guess. I think if I stuck with it longer term I would want to explore larger options, but decent chance I'm back in a house by then anyway which could expand my options a bit. Pretty sure 35L Brewzilla is winning for me...

Good single vessel for new to All Grain?

Yeah I'd actually really love the extra headroom and the potential to double batch but I rent in a unit 21 floors in the sky so I doubt 15amps would be possible. Seems like all the bigger units need that extra juice. Also I imagine pulling the malt pipe out by hand on a double batch could be...

Good single vessel for new to All Grain?

Yeah I imagine either a Zilla 35 or a BIAB urn would both be decent options. I would probably often brew no more than ~ 5.5% just like the option to go a bit higher when I feel the urge. As I said as long as it's possible to hit 6-7% I'll be happy especially for a first setup. I do like strong...

Good single vessel for new to All Grain?

I'd consider BIAB, though I feel like there'd be way more room for me to not hold a stable repeatable mash temp (even though I'm sure plenty of people manage to). Happy to pay a bit for ease of temperature control as long as it otherwise does what I want.

Good single vessel for new to All Grain?

Hey guys Been out of the game for a while but just bought a kegerator and the brewing obsession is returning with a vengeance. I previously boiled and hopped extract but looking to try all grain. I live in a small apartment and don't have any all grain gear so brewzilla35/guten40 are pretty...

    Belgian Dark Strong Ale Recipe

Hey guys I have really been loving these beers lately and am keen to have a go at a Belgian Dark Strong Ale, ala Chimay Blue, Rochefort 10 etc. Hopefully shooting for 9-10% abv. I gather there can be a few challenges such as doing a nice big starter, closely controlling/ gradually ramping up...

Fermenting with US05 and T58 - How cold is too cold?

Yeah I bottled mine today. Both tasting pretty nice so should hopefully turn out ok as long as they don't explode. I'm just gonna make sure to check a stubby of each in a few days and generally try to keep an eye on the carbonation levels.

Fermenting with US05 and T58 - How cold is too cold?

Hey guys So I know I've wandered a bit off topic from my original question about ferment temps, but these gravities really haven't moved for a week or so. Just wondering if people think it's safe to bottle (I would crack a bottle every week or so to check for gushers)? Cheers

    Singapore bans gay-themed books

That looks like a picture of Lot and his daughters. Genesis 19: After shit hit the fan in Soddom & Gomorrah and Lot's wife had been turned into a pillar of salt, he went and dwelt in a mountain cave with his 2 daughters. They decided to get him so pissed on wine that he slept with them because...

Fermenting with US05 and T58 - How cold is too cold?

Ok so not sure what to do with these brews. Recipes were Blonde: ------------ Amt Name Type # %/IBU 0.25 kg Caramunich Malt (110.3 EBC) Grain 1 5.7 % 0.50 kg...

Fermenting with US05 and T58 - How cold is too cold?

Ok, so I will definitely have to agree that 15 - 16 degrees is too cold as my beers look like they may have stalled at 1.019 for the US05 porter (OG1.062) and 1.018 for the T58 Belgian (OG 1.064). I know this is maybe a bit OT, but rather than starting a new thread, to me these gravities seem...
