Esb 3kg Vs Tcb Wetpack Vs X-tract 3kg

I've used all three kits, with varying results. I've been happy with the ESB 3kg kits I've made (Stout, Bavarian, Wheat, Nut Brown); all were drinkable, but I give the Bavarian lowest points, and the Nut Brown highest (good honest beer). I've used two X-tracts, the Pale (not overly happy...

    Alternetivs To Beer

Ginger beer is good, particularly with a dash of bundy. I did the Morgans, with just a kilo of raw sugar....tasted like the stuff we used to nick from Dad's stash as kids. The Morgans does contain artificial sweeteners...I believe there are some options for all natural kits. I have seen a kit...

    What Are Wetpacks

Got an answer elsewhere. They include all the ingredients and easy instructions for a partial. Sorry Bobby, no answer on the ESB dry packs. Cheers, Chucky

    What Are Wetpacks

'scuse me ignorance, but what are Wetpacks (eg: Country Brewer's), and are they worthwhile? I'm assuming there is a boiling process, but they don't constitute a 'partial' do they? Is the end result better than say a fresh wort, or markedly better than one of the good kits (I know...oxymoron)...

    Perceptions Of Beer

My wife and daughter spent a year in Bavaria, some of it in the Hallertau district, but most in Munich itself. When I visited, we had some beers at the brewery in Au (in Hallertau). It had been brewing continuously for something like 780 years, and was still owned by the local Baron. Beer just...

Dark And Stormy, Will This Work?

Thanks for the replies. Just to be sure that my plastic fermenter is OK, I suppose I could always get a second one..............maybe I need another keg too! (gleeful rubbing of hands is now occurring) WRT the Bundy Black, the wife buys it duty free for me. Can't stand the smell of the UP or...

Dark And Stormy, Will This Work?

Guys, I have a plan, but am unsure if this would work. Brew a ginger beer to about 3.5 or 4% A/V, and add about 1125 mls of Bundy Black to the keg....hey presto....dark and stormy on tap. Does anyone have any view on this re: 1. am I dreaming, 2. does ginger beer screw up your fermenter...

    Introduce Yourself.

Hi, I've been brewing since March this year, after I found out I don't have to clean bottles....kegs are the best inventions for lazy blokes like me! Tried it (unsuccessfully) about 18 years ago, well before the support and options that are available now. What a difference! I'm in Sydney's...
