2020: Best commercial glass 375ml bottles for homebrew ?

I have found a few threads covering this but nothing recent, so please direct me if I've missed something. I've been using Brooklyn Lager 355ml bottles for homebrew and love them. I put most of them in the recycling when I moved house but I've since discovered they only sell BL in cans now so I...

Mould in brew, any chance of saving ?

Thanks all ! I've only done half a dozen brews so it's great to have extra eyes on :bigcheers:

Mould in brew, any chance of saving ?

I opened it 24 hours ago and put the hop pellets in. I think it's bubbled up a bit and come back down since, the white was on the edge of the liquid yesterday.

Mould in brew, any chance of saving ?

Pics as requested. I'm on the edge of tossing it, but it breaks my heart ! :(

Mould in brew, any chance of saving ?

I've got a kit IPA in the fermenter at the moment, and just went to add the dry hops but there's a ring of mould above the beer in the fermenter. I know I should probably just toss the whole thing, but is there a way to recover it ? Looks like the mould will barely survive on the surface of...

    Too hot to Brew ?

Just an update for those interested, by adding a few kilo blocks of ice and using the towel you can certainly lower the temp of your fermenter. It's been more moderate this week so I took the towel off and the barrel is covered in a thin film of mould beneath the towel, so if you're planning...

    Too hot to Brew ?

I don't probe check it much, but often enough I know the stick on gauge is reliable. If you sanitize I don't see a problem.

    Too hot to Brew ?

I am, but I also have a probe thermometer and they match within a degree so I'm pretty confident about the temps.

    Too hot to Brew ?

Thanks, makes a lot of sense. Cheers for all the suggestions guys, it got up to 24 on the fermenter today, so I've dropped it in a shallow tray with a towel over the top, a few inches of water in the bottom and some 1litre ice blocks. I'll see how that performs over the next few days

    Too hot to Brew ?

I just read the directions and they actually recommend 20-25 degrees, so maybe I'm actually close enough if it's usually 26 degrees. I thought it should have been lower but I don't imagine they got it wrong. A fridge is on the list, but not this week sadly. Thanks for the replies guys !

    Too hot to Brew ?

I just got started brewing up an extract kit (Mangrove Jack's APA) and realised that the temperature in my house has been 26-28 degrees most days when I get home in the afternoon. I've never been super careful with temperature before, but this is a full 10 degrees hotter than the last batch. I...

    Mangrove Jack's Craft Pouch APA

I just picked up this Australian Pale Ale from the local brew shop, with a kilo of brew enhancer (75%dextrose 25%corn syrup) and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it ? I have 500gm of caramalt and some amarillo hops from my last brew (vac sealed and in the freezer) and I'm...

    First time all grain...

I used 500grams just because I had it, with the extract kit and extract malt. It's too late now but I'll do some reading about mashing before next batch.

    First time all grain...

Thanks, I already threw it all in :/ Cheers everyone for your help, it's brewing now, temperature stable. Only mistake I made was starting the water above 70 degrees, when I threw the grain in it stayed at 70 instead of dropping to 66 I was aiming for. I'm hoping with caramalt this isn't going...

    First time all grain...

I'm just about to brew this batch - stupid question but if I add 500gm of grain, will the result will be more flavour and ABV, so I can just adjust a little more water ? Just don't want to waste the grain !
