the idea is to control hop contact time in the wort with no O2 ingress.
with certain ferments, I find sometimes it takes multiple extra days to pass the diactyl test, and I want to ensure I can control hop contact time and mean you can experiment with early ferment VS late ferment dry hopping.
yep that's the link! I think it's a great mod, I only use it for dumping yeast and it's a bit questionable about reusing the yeast, it does get a bit errr....squirty.... but I haven't spent any time trying to solve that problem yet. I used QD fittings, so a collection bottle with a QD fitting...
thanks for the info, have ordered these teflon coated discs - https://magnet.com.au/neodymium-disc-25mm-x-2mm-teflon-coated.html.
will keep the existing ones out of the wort!
So I got these, https://www.bunnings.com.au/everhang-12mm-rare-earth-disc-magnet-6-pack_p3690099 but see in other threads it's recommeded ones with teflon, like stirbars.
what's the issue with Neodymium ones, corrosion?
as I will have up to 150g of hops in a bag, I'll probably go with...
being able to ferment from a chest freezer was also something that's not really been too easy, that was one of the reasons I ordered a couple! plus, xmas, spunding valve, whatever else I need to convince myself that I need this.
been struggling with efficiency, then I borrowed a 20L brau, and payed a bit more attention to my milling.
I've got a 2 roller KK Malt Muncher with a ozito drill running it slow.
Following the Brau instructions noticed having it set to 0.100 (I assume is 1mm) was doing basically nothing! lots...
has anyone got some of the power sockets I can buy? I'd take 1 but would have 2 if you've got them.
I can find them on ebay ( https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CNLINKO-3-Pin-Connector-Plug-Socket-Waterproof-IP67-Compatible-w-Neutrik-M24/122544821030 ) , but to get one posted quickly it's gonna cost...
after 50+ brews with my trusty Brauduino, was doing a test run with my new Coolossus counterflow chiller and some PBW ramping to 80c and looked around and instead of seeing a blue backlight I saw an orange flame! shiiiiiite! switched off the 2 x 20amp plugs. Checked the temp of the top of the...
