    NSW annual pub crawl

thanks. Was having a pint at the Lord Nelson with someone I know the other day. Somehow came onto the AHB pub crawls when talking and wanted to find out when the next one was. Still a bit short on space for doing any actual brewing, but would be fun to tag along to another AHB outing. On the...

Haha, brilliant!! Wish I'd thought of that last year on the crawl when the guys bought me a "Pink Killer" for my lack of love for weird, Belgian beers. Bjorn

    2012 Sydney Pub Crawl

Hi Redbeard, I read somewhere that the Belgian Beer Cafe in the Rocks went into voluntary administration last year. The only hit I can get on it now is this one: http://www.insolvencyappointments.com.au/2...-beer-cafe.html but that's not the page I read on it. Guessing they went broke and new...

    Biab Multi-step-lager Mashing

Recipe was for 25 litres with OG 1.044, ended up with 26 litres at OG 1.044. Sparge OG was 1.030 so probably worth it, to get more sugar out of the grains. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon :) thanks Bjorn

    Biab Multi-step-lager Mashing

ooups, didn't pay attention and stirred for a good 15 min before checking temp. It was at 75 degrees.. Wrapped it up again, and will leave it for 30 min. Aargh, my first attempt at this and already screwed it up  Zwickel, hey was reading your article again yesterday and wanted to...

thanks Manticle, I am looking forward to seeing if I can notice a difference in the end product. What are your experiences around this vs the "an-hour-at-66" kind of thing? thanks Bjorn

    Biab Multi-step-lager Mashing

    2012 Sydney Pub Crawl

having an alternative start in Manly doesn't sound too bad either, then ferry into town and hooking up with those starting at the Lowenbrau at Lord Nelson or Harts. Not a bad start to the day with a beer or two at Murray's overlooking the beach, before wandering down the strip to the ferry in to...

    Spent Grain Water Absorption

on my BIAB setup hanging the bag over a bucket and giving it a gentle squeeze only, the grain bag weights 0.55 kg more per kg of grain in the bag when finished. My water loss to grain is therefore 0.55 litre x kg of grains = litres of water thanks Bjorn
