    Free fridge - thornbury

Free fridge! Fridge on top, so no hump. Doesn't work the best at low temps, but fine for ferment. Fits, 60 or 30 litre fermentors. Thornbury pickup, can do a local drop off if needed.

    Mountain Goat Steam Ale

The goat site says: Malts Ale and wheat. That makes me think of Tradition Ale, rather than Pilsner. I have a few bags of ale, but currently no Pilsner. However I am brewing this for someone else, and would like to get it closer to the commercial beer. So, do you all recommend Pilsner over Ale?

    Pouring My First Beer Tonight!

I've asked this before, but didn't get a response... First, I agree, a non-return on the gas is a good idea. However, why are people getting beer go up their gas line??? -Do you fill the keg soo much that the beer level is above the gas in post? -Or is there another reason that I am missing?

    Beer In Co2 Line

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why do you fill above the gas dip tube? Isn't that asking for trouble? Also, I agree, get a non-return valve. More options: http://www.homebrewstuff.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=gas http://www.homebrewstuff.com/2-way-co2-distributor-1-4.html...

    Home Brew Shop Price Variations

+1 +1 It is good for the shop too, as it gets people through their doors who may not normaly go there. And then buy a few extra things at the same time.

    Home Brew Shop Price Variations

I live close to you, and I regard my local HBS as Greensborough (http://www.greensboroughhomebrew.com.au/). His site isn't always up to date, unless he's started doing it more lately. I make All Grain, so the Heidelberg shop is pretty useless for me unless I can't get to Greensborough, and only...

    Aldi Liquor

Bali Storm beer, IMO is the best locally made beer your gonna get by FAR!!!!!! MUCH better than the bland Bintang or Bali Hai or whatever. I also tried the Stark, and wasn't very impressed. One was almost undrinkable, way too bitter for a wheat. But if you like craft beer and beer with...

    Vic July 2012 Tasting Thread

    20. MaestroMatt - Weizenbock Colour: Dark ruby amber. Aroma: Sweet wheat. Tiny bit of alcohol. Taste: Licorice, alcohol, wheat. Head/Head Retention: Not much head to speak of, but has carb. Seems that most of the beers for this swap might be like this (my'n too). Overall: Very first taste...

    Beer Taints Sensory Evaluation Seminar

I too, told my housemate about it, and got the same response! I attended the first one and had a good night, was well presented. Then got to enjoy some nice beers after, at the Belgian Beer Cafe with other AHBers.
