    Frozen Beer Woes

Thanks for the input. Spunding valve was blocked with krausen, happily fermenting away.

    Frozen Beer Woes

2 is another mishap. Has been sitting at 18 degrees for 2 days now with the spunding valve showing no pressure building. Might need to re-pitch tomorrow. Do you think I should re-pitch a whole pack of yeast? Or just a portion to kick-start fermentation?

    Frozen Beer Woes

I've had a pretty good run as far as mishaps go, but have had two different issues with frozen beer/wort recently. 1. Cold crashed an IPA in keg too cold - currently defrosting, will let it sit, transfer and then carbonate. Fermentation was already finished so I don't think the beer should be...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

No I have not. Stupid question - how do they come apart? I can see the MFL can be removed by the hex nut. But how does the rest come apart?

    KegLand Questions and Answers

Hi, I have some of the gen 1 flow control disconnects. They pour very, very slowly even when fully opened. Using ~1m of 5mm line and a pluto gun. Is this something that will be improved in the gen 2 model?

    Mill Motors

I should have been more specific. Using a 12V 30A power supply. My query was regarding wire sizing on the 12V side. Any significant issues using 6mm2 cable on the 12V circuit?

    Mill Motors

Quick question about wiring the motion dynamics mill motor: does cable size matter much? If I use wires that I've removed from an old extension lead will there be any detrimental effects? If so - can someone please recommend wire size. Thanks

Looking to buy a grain mill - any available?

We should probably get an idea of people's budgets if going for a bulk buy. I am happy to shell out for a Mash Master, but that may not be for everyone.

    BIAB Trub

Thanks for all of the helpful tips. I don't have a mill, so thus far haven't been controlling how fine the crush has been. In saying that, it is likely going to be my next investment. The bag is just off the shelf from the local brew shop - will look for swiss voile (Spotlight?). In the photo...

    BIAB Trub

Hi all, I BIAB, and have been trying to identify the source of my excessive trub with no luck. I used to use a paint strainer as a hop bag, but found that the bag would become so clogged with hop gunk that no wort was passing out of (and therefore presumably into and through) the hop bag. At...
