I did. I fermented it with the kit yeast and half a cup of US-05 slurry from a previous brew. Thanks Bribie. I'll try the regular stout. This one was the Irish stout with a tin of dark malt extract and 20 grams of steeped Fuggles. I mean......how easy is that? It's a great beer.

Good question Grott. I will make this a regular from now on, especially now the cooler months are with us. BUT....... I will still mash brew occasionally. I feel for paler beers mashing gives far superior results. It's all about balancing time and expectations. I have brewed some fantastic kit...

Alternating tonight between this stout and LCBA clone (all grain). I can't pick a winner. They are both so good.

I haven't got round to trying a Cube yet, but it sounds like a great option. Anthony, that sounds like a great way of doing things, one that I would never have even thought of. I have a couple of spare kegs, so I will give it a go.

Hi Laxation I just checked my notes and unfortunately, I didn't write down when I added the hops. I can only presume that I dry hopped them on about day 4 of fermentation...... but maybe I boiled some up with the LDM......sorry, not much help I know. I have actually just now racked off...

LOL, yeah that one worked. I was "allowed" to buy some kegs/taps/everything else a couple of months ago after taking every cupboard in the laundry and half the kitchen and dining room floor space with bottles :-)
