    BCS-460 Embedded Concepts

Hey all, I've got a BCS-460 that I purchased about 3 years ago and unfortunately haven't got my brewing system together properly, so I still haven't used it... Considering it's been sitting in my cupboard for so long, I thought I might as well offer it up for sale. Here's the link to the...

AHB Articles: Vic X-mas In July 2010 Case Swap

I feel like a ******* newbie to have to do this so close to the swap, but am going to have to cancel on attending the swap, and whilst I want to try to, I don't think I'm going to be able to even organise to get the beers dropped off to someone's place. I don't like making excuses, but the...

AHB Articles: Vic X-mas In July 2010 Case Swap

Fents, Even though I'm a newbie I'll put my name down for some floor if that's cool? If there's anything else that's needed am happy to assist - not sure but I may be able to get hold of some firewood, just a matter of bringing it back to melbourne from the farm the week before... Andy

AHB Articles: Vic X-mas In July 2010 Case Swap

Well, the Kolsch has altered to a little more like an alt/brown.... Lets say that it's best not to have apprentices assisting with grain grinding and weighing when preparing the rest of the gear..... But I'm pretty confident - I did pick up the issue before we started the Mash - just that the...

AHB Articles: Vic X-mas In July 2010 Case Swap

Sorry to not have posted up here for ages - work has been a nightmare, let alone the "soap opera" like life that has been my living situation in the past 2 months..... BUT - I have sorted it all out, and I will be putting a beer down in the next week (well, more likely 3)- but the main one will...

AHB Articles: Vic X-mas In July 2010 Case Swap

Well, trial batch of Kolsch has been made, and the consensus is that it's a winner, a little fine tuning and a fresh brew will be knocked out in mid May, enough time for bottle conditioning but still close enough for a fresh brew.

    O'hara's Stout Clone

Well, I've updated with 1kg of Dark Munich, and will try to get English Roasted and Chocolate Barley. I've just checked the Wyeast site, and they recommend 1056 at no 2 for a Dry Stout - before recommending the Irish Ale Yeast, so am guessing that the 1272 would be up there as ok too? Prefer...

    O'hara's Stout Clone

Thansk Ferg, The Joe White Pale is based on the fact that I have it lying around, and I was expecting that due to there being a lot of Choc and Roasted in the mix there would be limited flavour input from the Base Malt? Fair enough on the other two though. One of the main comments on the...

    O'hara's Stout Clone

Well, I guess that's a no for anyone having tasted it let alone knowing a clone.... Have gathered together a few different tidbits from various web reviews, and came up with the following as a starting point. O'Hara's Stout Clone Brew Type: All Grain Date: 3/17/2010 Style: Dry Stout...

    O'hara's Stout Clone

Being St Patty's Day has kinda jogged my memory of how I spent it last year... Lovely day in Cork in the South East of Ireland with mates, but most important - I was drinking good Irish Made Stout. Whilst I did try all of the available stouts that I could find during the day, there was one...
