    Schooners In Victoria

So now does the Brekky Creek Hotel! For at least 3 months now, schooners 'off the wood' comes in those conical glasses. I was told that they were less likely to break when dropped - but I miss the shorter, fat at the top old style glasses

    Keg Carbing Methods And Infection

G'day Recently my secondary (and conditioning) fridge went bung. FYI, I usually force carbed using basically the Ross method. The last couple of kegs I forced carbed are just sitting in the garage (20 C average) waiting their turn to make it to the dispensing fridge (as the conditioning fridge...

Ag Pale Ale Is A Touch Sweet What To Do

Fergi, I'd boil some hops for half an hour to extract bitterness to balance the sweetness. I have done this a few times actually to very good effect - well, not boiled hops but added some ISO bittering hop to balance things. What I did absolutely works but your suggestion of boiling fresh hops...

    Bitterness Still Haunting Me

Mate, I love to brew Morgans QLD bitter as it is exactly that - my taste buds love bitter beers! In fact the QLD bitter is (from memory) around 35 IBU's when made to 23 litres. I actually make it to 21 litres as I keg and its slightly more bitter again :) The morgans australian lager or qld...

    Australian Lost Beers

I didn't know you couldn't still get it. I seem to remember various pubs in NSW serving Black (tooheys old) and/or Brown (hunter old) - they were referred to by their colour. Hunter old from memory was not as dark as tooheys but had more body and finished slightly sweeter - probably closer to a...

    Tap - A - Draft

Yes I did prime them which is why carbonation was good for a few days. When I bought mine (maybe 4 - 5 years ago), I hadnt heard of exploding bottles at all. Maybe they changed the internal reg??

    Tap - A - Draft

Yeh I had one (probably still do somewhere in the garage). It was OK at first but really couldn't hold enough carbonation for my liking - within a few days/week was almost flat. I persisted for a while, tries new seals etc but then gave up. Cheers, Adam
