Hey Tidal Pete, you should be a fly-on-the-wall at our place watching the evening news - with references to things such as the 'medium' strip, cere-moh-nees and the mon-ark. Different 'to' (or compared 'to') Australian English (or British English) in 'any way-shape-or form', for sure. But inexorably it's taking over, so we just have to accept the inevitable... ('I guess')

There was much discussion around the recipe builder and what was needed to make it a good resource. Will there be a focus on fixing that on the new platform?

Does anyone remember the old recipe data base

We will migrate the recipe database into a forum structure so none of the data gets lost when regardless if we upgrade IPB or move to xF, the recipe builder's code will be 100% useless, it would have to be hand written all over again because the previous developer built it all on top of IPB3.

Is there a chance of archiving the old recipes, as well as the new ones, to another location in the current format? I had some favourites among the old recipes and will get really pissed off if they are lost.

I am willing to copy the old recipes over to a new format (for posterity, if not actual real value) if they are saved in current format, if that's possible.

Not really a fan of the BJCP styles format, which may need to be updated to the current BJCP styles anyway.

My $A 0.02 worth.

As a whole you all cannot upload files right now?

We will try to import the recipes so it shares the same UI it does now .. It will just be in the forum as a forum/thread/post setup.

Unsure about Tapatalk and the branded app. Mobile styles are really good now. Used to need a mobile app to upload photos on the iPhone but now responsive designs of which xF is really good, kind of make apps dated.

Maybe we just install Tapatalk and drop the branded app? At the very least we would need to upgrade the branded Tapatalk to the newest version.

I use the branded app for here and HBT I like both, don't see a need to change much there, maybe shoring up, the upload backend.
Like others have said I also use the phone app to upload pics, due to file size limits, and lack of graphics app on the pc.

If this means extraction of existing data into the OP of a thread then it's probably the best news ever about the AHB recipe database. There are a million recipator apps/ modules in the wild, yet another is just a rod for thine own back.
OTOH, logically structuring the forum that contains the recipes, capturing the metadata for grouping and searching would be another matter, AFAICT it needs serious thought.
