not sure if anyone else out there seen it , but at about 4.30pm yesterday i clicked into brew food and was hit with a message from some woman from canada about female masturbation. with this a very detailed message came up about how this women likes sex and also in every place on her body. my 8 year old daughter was standing behind me and also had seen the photos of some very wayout there porn. i quickly got out and explained to my 8 year that this should of not happend. i must admit that in a matter of 30 secs this message had been deleted. whats the story with these type of messages, do they get through, is there any way of stoping them.

I didn't see the offending post ME, but I would have to say that the way this forum is organised and administered is first rate (and I have been a user of this forum for about 12 months). Messages of this nature are very few and far between, and anything that isn't meant to be there certainly doesn't stay there for very long. I'm not sure whether this is due to some fancy, automated code that spots these types of posts or whether it is zealous moderation. In any case, if you do see something abnormal that shouldn't be there, hit the "Report" button on the botton LHS of the post and an administrator/moderator will be alerted and take any appropriate action.

Mickey I suggest you download a package like adaware, AVG, spybot, kaspersky or anything similar if you don't have one on your computer. Those images contained MALWARE, I didn't see what the images were as Kaspersky intercepted them before they were displayed and said they contained malicious content.

I guess this goes for anyone that actually saw the images too.

The reason they disappear quickly is because of zealous moderation (well, a fair sized moderating team, so there is usually a green member on the board) and a good membership that reports the spam, as you suggest.

We run an open board that allows any person on the internet to signup, get an account and start posting.
We have measures in place that stop automated signups (used by spam/porn bots), but there is nothing to stop a real person signing up and making a nuisance of themselves. The spam that we get like this appears to be generated by a real person signing up, signing in, then scripting a spam/porn post(s).
Thankfully we don't get a lot of it, and it is typically in the middle of the night as the offenders are typically northern hemisphere based.

The alternative is not a nice one, and manually approving all signups. This is just unmanageable for a site our size.
If you see something that isn't right, hit the Report Post button and the Mods will be onto it.

Beers,
Doc

Not enough porn on this board. Wish everyone would get out their cameras and take snaps of their brews, gears and processes. Pictures speak a thousand words :D

The worst I've seen on this site is spam that gets knocked on the head quick. Some trashy but never seen porn here.

Thumbs up to the moderators and thank you to the moderators.

This site is clean or I wouldn't be here.

Good work AHB.

There has been. One or another mod always gets on to it as quickly as they can so it has a short life.
