I'm a homebrewer. I hate that the nationals in Australia are called the "Amateur" brewers. It should be home brewers, not amateur. But then again, that's not all I hate about that competition........

I've mostly used Iodophor but I've also used The Country Brewer's Liquid Sanitiser (phosphoric acid) a couple of times. Both are excellent and work well when mixed to the right amounts. I will be switching to Star San though for when my current bottle of Iodophor runs out. No particular reason...

I think if you put it in the freezer for about 24 hours, that should be enough to kill the critters. It definitely works with flour so I think it would also work with grains. As long as you store it in an air tight container after that, all should be well. No critters going through the grain mill!
